In short: Still tough. Still brilliant
In full: This isn't a course you're likely to set a PB on but there is more to running than just that isn't there?
A great run around minor roads in the Peaks. A couple of major climbs but also a couple of speedy descents to go with them. Wonderful scenery, friendly marshals, a good sized field so you're always around people but not so many people that you can't run at your own pace.

In short: Not really worth the hype
In full: This was my first time running the London Marathon. I'm not sure if I'll be back. Too much congestion over the first few miles and a start that seemed to allow walkers to get near the front.

In short: Good race. Hilly but not too hilly.
In full: An enjoyable race. Some testing climbs especially when running into the wind. One stretch running through a valley where the scenery was glorious - the run was worth it for that mile alone.

A shame about some of the impatient car drivers pushing through on the narrow roads.

In short: Excellent race with stunning views (and a couple of hills)
In full: As far as races go there is absolutely nothing to fault with this one. The organisation was spot on, the marshalls friendly and encouraging, plenty of water stations, good support in the village and a great t-shirt.

The course is challenging but the scenery more than makes up for that. There are two major climbs with a couple of pretty fast downhill stretches including the last 1.5 miles to the finish.

This will definitely be in my calendar for next year.

In short: Lovely race. Start could do with a couple of tweaks though.

In short: Very nice run. Glorious Northumberland scenery and a challenging course.
In full: This was my first time doing a 10 mile race and it was a lovely run.

Improvements for next year. The Start and Finish banners being above the course so you can see them properly. Lots of people wondering if they'd finished at the end. Apart from that everything was great.

In short: A challenging, multi terrain *hilly* race. Very enjoyable despite all that though.
In full: A very enjoyable race. It could have been better with some more forewarning of the hilliness of the second half though - unless I'm the only one who was caught out by it. I'd definitely do this again.
