In full: The london marathon is a truely special day and I'll dine out on that story forever. The water stations were manned really well, the baggage was very slick and fantastic to not have to queue for ladies loos at the start. I was in pen 9 blue start and got in the right pen and followed everyone forward and then realised I was in pen 6. I'm sure there were people abusing the pen system, but honestly for most of us, we shuffled forward as we were told and then the pens were all mixed up - sorry but not our fault. Crowds were unbelievable, music great (especially the drummers and the steel band playing chariots of fire!). I won't be back as marathons are too hard for me, but will remember this day forever. In short: Absolutely no chance of breaking records, but a great day out In full: My first time doing Frenchay and I had been warned about the hills, but oh crikey... especially the final sting in the tail. Well organised, although there were marshalls in places that didn't need them and road crossing that perhaps did need them, but most marshalls were clapping and generally being very encouraging. The route has a few dull residental sections, but does take advantage of Snuff Mills and Oldbury Estate which is really nice. Some more loos would be good too. The parking marshalls had a tough job, but it all seem to run very smoothly. Oh and thanks for organising some great weather. I'll be back next year! Are there any on-line results? 2008 Aberystwyth 10K

In short: Really well organised, lovely run along the seafront and the mince pie tasted fantastic! In full: Well done to the organisers - the race ran like clockwork and was very well marshalled. The route was great as it really tried to take it as much as the sea front as possible. The marshalls did an excellent job of holding back the traffic so there were no moments where the traffic meant the runners were held up at all. The only comment is that I couldn't see the finish until the very end which meant that any attempt at a quicker finish wasn't possible (if my legs had been capable of a quick finish that is!). And definite PB potential. Date of review: December 15, 2008
