In short: Great fun and brilliantly organised In full: Starting not too long after sunset, running off road, along shingle beach, up cliffs and hills, some quad-busting descents, and all by torchlight - great fun! Really well organised, route very clearly marked with Hi viz tape and red LEDs, helpful, friendly, encouraging marshalls, and the option to pre-order your post-run pub meal....a great night out! In short: Perfect first ultra! In full: Very friendly and helpful organisers, lots of food at the finish (mmmmmmmm), a sweeper so you know you won't be left behind, and a really friendly atmosphere. It was my first ultra and I loved it! Date of review: February 28, 2008

In short: Hilly but so much fun, in a lovely part of the world, and a bargain! In full: I'm a mid - back of the packer, and this one definitely had HILLS! But they were so much fun! Some were faster to walk than run, but then you got to let go on the downhills (cos holding back hurts more) and I wanted to go "wheeeeeeeeee" on the way down. It was like being a kid again and exploring a new area and way of running. Fab organisation, great marshalls, friendly fellow runners - some even saying 'well done, you're doing great' when you pass them! Entry fee an absolute bargain, the most I've ever enjoyed a race! :-) Date of review: July 10, 2007

In short: A nice race, love the t-shirt, and a bargain! In full: No queues for loos, plenty parking, chip-timed, well-marshalled, the t-shirt is good quality and a lovely blue. Some people coming out of their houses to cheer makes it nice and friendly. Will be keen to do it again next year. Small gripes - congested at start, but not for long, and lots of driveways in the pavement bit annoying, but the roads are wide and traffic gives you lots of room if you're running in the cycle lane. In short: Glad it had a second chance! In full: Overall a good day, and no problems at the start and finish areas - managed to make my customary 2 pre-race loo queues with no trouble! Suggestions for the future would be: the bag storage should be supervised - I dropped off and collected my own bag, and could easily have taken someone else's, had I wanted to... As the only sheltered areas were the changing areas, My male companion and I couldn't shelter from the cold wind pre-race together, which didn't help pre-race nerves... Since the organiser's have so clearly listened to what runners wanted after last year, I think this race will go from strength to strength, and hopefully get more local support each year. A good day out - thank you! Date of review: April 2, 2007

In short: hot, hilly, friendly! In full: Marshalls and support was fab, plenty of water and sponge stations saved the hot day for me. I was stuck running in an 18 inch wide gap next to a caravan which was a bit scary, but otherwise had a fab day, and was generally very impressed with the organisation. Agree that some of the loos from the muster area could be moved to the carpark, but generally the queues were pretty short, and the hog roast was lovely. Date of review: September 18, 2006

In short: disappointing In full: agree with all comments made so far - would have been so easy to make it a full 10K. shame the promised medal didn't appear, organisation was fairly chaotic. hopefully many lessons will be learned before the next one, as it's a nice spot for a run. thanks to the marshalls though who were very friendly and supportive.
