In short: New course flatter but shorter!
In full: As has already been pointed out by several reviewers, it was disappointing that the route has been altered from previous years, so it no longer a 'bluebell run'! The new route is certainly less hilly; but the fact that the course was approx 500m short needs to be considered by the organisers in planning next year's event.

In short: The coldest, muddiest run I can remember for many years!
In full: A bitterly cold morning, and much of the terrain was very muddy and slippery - not conducive for a good time. Some steep hills, though I have known worse. I understand that this was the inaugural race over this course, so there were a few organisational glitches - no intermediate water stations, no kilometre markings, and the 'mementos' were nothing special. However, full marks to the race marshals for keeping cheerful despite the icy wind and snow flurries!

In short: A long-ish climb through the golf course, and some very nice houses on the route! An enjoyable Sunday afternoon's run.

In short: One of my local events, which I enter every year - knocked a minute or so off last year's time, so reasonably pleased.
In full: An innovation this year was provision of energy drinks bottles at the intermediate water stations. Most were discarded nearly full, many a long way from the stations - what a waste of money and plastic bottles, and a litter nuisance.

In short: First time I'd participated in this event, and once the early congestion had cleared, it was a most enjoyable run

In full: I have run this event for many years, but this was the first time that I can recall the start being delayed (by 15 mins), with no explanation given. This was frustrating, but other than that initial hiccup, everything else seemed OK, and I shaved a few seconds off last year's time.

In short: My local race, nice only to have to walk 10 mins from my front door to the start line
In full: This was the fifth time I had run this race, and I was disappointed to record my worst time to date - must do some more hill training before next year's event! The organisation on race day was very good as usual; my only gripe was that having this year entered online via the RW website, my race number never arrived in the post; so I had to get to the race HQ earlier than intended to obtain a duplicate number. I discivered that there were others in the same boat, so this was evidently a glitch in the system. But all in all, a most enjoyable day in the Watford winter sunshine.
