In short: Up and down In full: It was wet and (apparently) all uphill, but otherwise very enjoyable.
Given that Malvern is the source of famous springwater, should the water stations not give out something that didn't taste of chlorine???

In short: Wind, rain, flat, hills, mud, pavements - what more do you want?! In full: Add cliffs, the seaside and text messages letting you know it's wet outside and to wrap up warm and you have pretty much the perfect race.
Sure, the muddy bit made it interesting, and what was that fizzy stuff about? But having done the dry version of this race you can only put that down to bad luck. A real challenge and certainly more variety and interest than a lot of city races.
Banana, water and a cereal bar is all a goody bag needs, or would people prefer more flyers? The foil blanket was most welcome too.
This is one of my favourite races and todays weather just made it a bit more... interesting...!!

In short: Tough hills but a great run In full: Second time for me this year - 3 hour round trip for a 10k tells a tale. The hills seemed steeper than last year, funny how time can forget these details! Knocked a few minutes off last year's time though so I must be getting used to it.
Still a very friendly atmosphere despite numbers almost doubling from last year, but I'm not convinced about the new starting line, I'd rather it was back to how it was originally.
The last km down the hill to the house is still brilliant though. Date of review: February 5, 2006

In short: A lovely run through the Hampshire countryside In full: A thoroughly enjoyable race helped by the weather, scenery and organisation generally. Some of the marshalls could have looked a bit cheerier but in the main were friendly and encouraging.
KM markers would have been nice, but I had a Garmin so not a major gripe.
Taking in breaths of 'country air' with the water at 5k was a new one on me!
