In short: Still my favourite despite....
In full: one or two wee problems. Us leisure runners like a bit of a 'proper' start - build-up from an MC, cheering, a starting pistol...not, 'oh, oh, here's the start line, better get going!' And we definitely don't like the aggressive whistle of the cycling race steward as he tries to negotiate the leaders through the massed ranks of those that keep these events going. Some respect whistling man! Also no covers over the cattle grids - potential disaster! But...this is STILL my favourite half. Beautiful Cumbrian scenery and a great team of volunteers make this a peach of a run. 'Nice' is an abused term these days, but nevertheless there is just something nice about this whole event. I have done the past 4 and I will be there for number 5 next year.

In short: The 'big' Scottish event losing its shine?
In full: This is one of my favourite runs - being a local race for me. I look forward every year to the atmosphere at the start in George Square and the run over the Kingston Bridge. But I have to agree with other comments - this year was rather downbeat. The support, which in other years has been great, was sparse and subdued. Too often I heard the runners trying to gee up the crowd - shouldn't it work the other way around?
Having said all that - I will be back next year, if only for sentimental reasons. Other favourites (like the Great Cumbrian Run) are now far more enjoyable overall. Sorry Glasgow!

In short: 3rd year in a row at this great wee race - and another cracker! Well organised, friendly. Low turnout this year tho.

In short: Three cheers for the Dumfries Running Club! A friendly, well-organised race. Very well marshalled with friendly supportive individuals. Bring it back next year please!
