In short: plain crazy
In full: Wild race ,it did what it said on the tin.Tough race should make the adjustment to half marathon and i reckon this would be a popular event.Just what you need to fill the Christmas gap.

In short: fantastic marathon course.........only 3 weeks till 2009 race can't wait
In full: contrary to many reports for me the start was great, the finish superb but most of all the 26 miles inbetween represented a fair if not fast course. Are you a marathon runner or a day-tripper???

In short: has everything a half marathon could want
In full: dont be put off by hilly reputation. The ratio of hills to flat was ideal for half marathon distance.A true race, organised like clockwork with well placed water stations and fantastic marshaling. Thanks marshalls and great local support.Look forward to next year.

In short: Perfect event for a race rather than a fun run
In full: Out and back race. Gently undulating and straight. Slightly monotonous. I feel this race was set up for the serious runner which suited me as I flew up from Somerset to do a reasonable time. The drinks stations were fantastic, alternating water and Lucozade every 5k (sports cap bottles!). Like other commenters, I too found the last 2 miles very lonely with no support. Was that wind in my face for the last 3 miles, or was I imagining it? Loved the bagpipes - could have been more. Thanks to the supporters - could have been more. Thanks to the Jelly Baby team. Free tea, rolls and biscuits were really appreciated. I'll be back to run a better time. Oh - almost forgot to mention the spectator who had set up an amplifier in the rain playing loud punk music (The Dammed) - made my day!
