In short: Very enjoyable
In full: Steep climb for first 2K but just runnable for mere mortals. A few bits of road including nice downhill finish but mainly tracks and trails - oh! and lots of big puddles to splash through.

In short: Great new event. Well done Chard RR
In full: The setting for this new race is the Cricket St Thomas Wild Life park ("To The Manor Born" if you are old enough to remember this) and so we had the pleasure of running the rolling hills and woodland trails. Chard RR should be congratulated for adding a great new race to the calendar. The publicity was very good, the organisation excellent and the welcome all you could wish for. Runners came from far and wide and I suspect they will all want to return next year.

In short: Worth doing
In full: Many thanks to the Marshalls and other helpers who had to stand out in the pouring rain. First time I've done the race and really enjoyed it, and the towel was a great finishing gift. I've given Organisation 80% but I would give the results service about 1%. Only the results of the first 30 or so runners posted by 2.00pm (race started 10.30) so no way of knowing if a friend had won a category prize and no announcements to say why the delay. Spoilt an excellent event. Same problem last year apparently.

In short: Beautiful day and excellent race
In full: My third year and the best yet - who says its not a PB course? I don't know why but despite the hills this is always my quickest half-marathon. Great turnout and thanks to all the marshalls and drinks people.

In short: What a Brilliant Event
In full: What a challenge! The start with over 1500 runners slipping and sliding over the beach was a foretaste of things to come. If' you weren't going up you were usually going down, except of the cliff tops and beaches. Marshalls with cheery smiles with the wind whipping round them; Helpful heckling through knee deep mud, enigmatic words of wisdom on trees, fences and bushes and a nip of brandy all helped to get me to the last half-mile stretch of beach. My legs had almost seized up by then but I got there at last. No wonder this run is so over sub-scribed. DO IT!!

In short: Second Year still enjoyed it
In full: Another good race. Pity the mist didn't fully clear until about mile 4. If you weren't going up you were usually going down. One member of our club PB'd and the rest of us ran well. Challenging route and good to raise money for charity without huge entry fees or having to nag your friends and family to death for FLM-type commitments

In short: Very enjoyable and good for a first half-marathon
In full: Car parking on the road sides but well-organised registration and start. The nice long hill you run down so easily at the beginning is the one you have to climb at the end when knackered.
