In short: P.B Gold, Sun always shines, Friendliest marshalling anywhere and Moist home made ginger cake in your goody bag!
In full: This is a great race, I have run it about 6-8 times. It is very flat, really well marshalled and pretty hassle free in terms of arriving and departure. This year they had some lovely cake in the goody bag which is exactly what you want. The one thing that I would really like them to change is to have 1 isotonic bottled drinks station along the way(say mile 6-ish) as it is so hard to get anything from a plastic cup whilst you are running.

In short: 5th time running it, sun always shines. pb gold, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, excellent community involvement.
In full: Love this race, it is the fifth time that I have enetered and three of my top 5 pb's were run here. It is a very high quality field of runners but is also very beginner friendly. Special plaudits should go to the organisers for the friendly and community minded stewarding, medal giving and baggage handling which was run with textbook efficeincy and cheerfulness. If I could change just one thing it would be to have one of the drinks stations (6 miles ish) with bottled drinks as I find it really hard to drink from a plastic cup whilst running.

In short: A quality event, probably now too many runners, Flat but p.b potential is reduced due to the heavy head wind over the final 2 miles.
In full: Have run this 4-5 times now, if you are a faster runner it is essential to start near the front of your wave, if not you will spend the first 2-3 miles slaloming. Don't underestimate the head wind as miles 9 and 10 can be a real p.b killer. I normally run then jog to the car for my warm down and a quick escape out of Southsea.

In short: Great Race, friendly atmosphere and p.b-able.
In full: If this race had about five more toliets and maybe one drinks station with bottles rather than the plastic cups it would be about perfect.
Very well marshalled, great scenery and an all round friendly atmosphere. It's flat enough to p.b on although there are a few 'testers' on route.

In short: very flat pb race in ugly town with fantastic marshalls.
In full: THe reason to do this race is simply that it is as flat a race as you are going to find ouside of holland.

In short: started in 1500th, finished 290th after usual first mile slalom!!
In full: Last year I finished in 321st position, this year I finished in 290th so why do I have to start in orange B behind 1500 runners of extremely mixed ability. Dodging around all of the people who must have lied about their expected time added over a minute to my first mile and so stuffed up my chances of a pb.

In short: Great P.B course and the Sun always shines too!
In full: The Gosport organisers obviously have strong links with the weather bureau, they shifted the date of this run from last week (unbelievably unpleasant) to this week (cool and sunny). I have run this 3 times and the weather has been identical on each occasion, nice. A definite p.b course and I got mine (1.28.05), yes!. Well marshalled by friendly people, thanks to all of you.

In short: purgatory in paradise
In full: great run, treat it as a stiff training run and if you have any hopes of a p.b, abandom them at the first hill. I reckon you should add about 8 minutes to your 'flat course' time and aim for that
