In short: great addition to the mara calendar
In full: i wasn't intending to do this race but, after watching it last year and going to their free talk with andi jones. I was so impressed i decided to add this in, and i wasn't dissappointed. this race had excellent orginaization (the drinks stations were top draw). while i wouldn't target this race as their are other monster mara's its up against at that time year. it is one, i'll try and fit when i can.

personally wouldn't call this a pb cource. its definatly undulateing with a coupls of short challanging hills, do-able but will take a toll. while you can achieve PB's on this cource, on the same day, i'd run faster on a few other cources i know.

warm and welcoming race, with excellent organisation, a great addition to the calendar. p.s. love the long sleave tec shirt.

In short: something a bit different
In full: i ran this in 06 and was very critcal of it

just done it again and have to say they have sorted out the problems. very well organised, fast results the only crit is its a bit pricey but you do get free transport and a decent goody bag/momentos for your money

this is not a race i would target, although it is not as slow as some would make out. if your new to running, fancy something a bit different or want to stretch your legs a bit, you could do a lot worse.

well done run liverpool, now you have to keep this standard up

In short: a race that goes that little bit further
In full: superb organisation, great oganisation, good value for money, surportive marshalls and excellent communication. If the cource was flat it would be perfect.

In short: great value for money
In full: this is not a fast cource, but the effort the organisers put into this race is exceptional and trully a bargain at the price. this is well mashalled by surportive marshalls, a great practical dry wick t, with pleanty of jaffa cakes and bisquets at the finish.

They go the extra mile, thank you stockport

In short: ok as a training run
In full: i like running around delamere, However for the money it cost their were some serious mistakes.

-lack of imformation about the late start

-starter could do with something to start the race with

-cource not the right distance

-poor marshalling / sign missing

ok they had to change the route due to ice, however the lead group of us ended up running around like headless chickens due to a sign/marshall missing. the marshalls in close proxsimity didn't have a clue where we should go?

ok it happens, but it shouldn't on races that cost this much. The leaders ended up well down the field!

In short: its what running is all about
In full: this race may not have the glittz & glam of the London funrun. What you get for your money is a challenging race, in stunning scenery that is constantly changing, in a very freindly atmosthere and suported by appretiateve and informative crowd.

You want to say you've done a mara?
then do London

You want to do a mara?

In short: health & safety conserns
In full: while the race itself was a fine low key event, well marshalled if a little expensive.

The big problem was the water stations or should that be lack of them! they advertised them at 3/6/9/11, which is in accordance with ARC & UKA rules. the reality was one at 7m and one at 10! the 3m they had no cups and don't seem to have planned for the mandatory 4th one. This is not acceptable and shows a complete lack of concern for runners wealthfare, what makes this matter worse was that some runners were doing a full marathon, plus it was a warm sunny day.

YOU NEVER START A RACE WITHOUT CHECKING SAFETY MEASURES ARE IN PLACE, people could quite easily end up in hospital!

I'm reporting the race to ARC the permit providers.

In short: pure quality
In full: i have been saving this one for a while, and it was well worth the wait.

I have been running /raceing for over 3 years both here and abroad, this race stands out from the crowd. It is not easy, but if you want easy run a 5k.

It reminds you that racing is not just about times, but the challange of the magical 26.2

In short: real pb potential
In full: this is a great little race and their are not many decent 10 milers left these days. my only minor grumble is where were the car park signs? and the a marshall directing traffic sent me to the wrong place!!! a map of where to park would be a help next year. other than that keep going, good stuff.

Good points

1-fast, almost flat route
2-well organised
3-easy to find

bad points

1-car park not signposted and misdirected by marshall

p.s. many thanks to the time keeper thant was counting down to 63min, you got me a 62 time
