In short: Excellent race well run and quicker than you expect
In full: As always everything went well, good organistion, encouraging marshals, interesting course with a range of slightly challenging hills, a very bright t-shirt. The only downside was at the plentyful waterstations the helpers struggled hand out water, they held them too high (shoulder hieght) and too tight so that I only managed to grab 2 out of 4, I was toward the front and running at about 11mph so it's hard to take them cleanly at times. But this is mild gripe on what is a wonderful race

In short: A Good Pre-London Workout
In full: The 20 ticked the all boxes that I was looking for, right time in the training, close to home, OK value, good organisation.

On the day I arrived to see a long queue of traffic, but was surprised by the organisation to move it into the car park and take £1 at such speed. The mile to the start worked as a warm-up which had most of the facilities that you need (can any race ever have enough toilets?). The start worked well with the 10 & 20 mixed in. The course itself was well marked including every pot-hole, which after this winter that is a very large number and must of taken a considerable effort. The first lap went by uneventfully and this time I avoided racing those running 10 miles. On the second lap the course became a little lonely and only about half of the marshals were cheering by that point. Then someone sneaked in a few hills that I'm sure weren't there on the first lap. After running 20M at marathon pace (according to my Garmin) it was a bit disheartening to find I still had 0.15M to run meaning I just missed 2hrs. I'm not sure if the course was long or the fact that I took the marshals directions to run on the left or I was weaving about like a drunk at last orders meant I ran too far but it was annoying.
The goody bag was way more generous than I expected and the food and drink was well recieved.
In short I would run it again in the build-up to a marathon

In short: Hard as the hills it is made from and equally as beautiful
In full: After finishing, I stopped and looked realising I had run those hills, a feeling that will last for a long time.
I enjoyed all of this experience, the chill out tent at the start, the mind blowing scenery, the leg blowing climbs, the hair raising decents, the sheer scale of the organisation, to mark 22miles (by my garmin anyway) over this terrain is incredible.
£25 is enough for a race but this is the most value from any race, goody bag, red bull, band, the chip timing (although I think this will be an area they seek to improve), hog roast, free bar but most of all the organisation
Thank you all involved

In short: Fantastic Challenge
In full: This really was as much fun as I hoped, everything worked well from the communication before to breakfast the next morning. The course is hard and a true challenge to beat the train with its cheery whistle. The marshals are amazing, I met a couple who came from Leicester to marshal!!! Thank you. The town comes out to support the race and it seems nobody minds the distruption on a Saturday afternoon, which makes the atmosphere infectious. The scenery is wonderful and you come into contact with much of it! The organisation is brilliant and I can't see room for improvement. The goodie bag was amazing, although I would of run just to beat the train. Thank you one and all for such a great time.

In short: A Fabulous Blast through the Twists and Turns of Hungerfords Countryside
In full: A wonderfully mornings entertainment, the kids loved the childrens race and the medal was nice, they felt like runners. The main race was across varied countryside from quite country roads, common land, footpaths a gallop and wide bridleway, over small but constant undulations. I was a little conserned that you double back on the course and we could of been running into runners coming the other way, but the course had been worked out well and there was only slight overlap. The marshals were plentyful and wonderful. The mug was about the best I've recieved at a race which off-set the sharp intake of breathe of the price. The atmosphere was splendid dispite the intermittent rain. Well done all involved

In short: Perfect PB Potential
In full: This race is made for PB's, no stress at the start due to great organisation, wonderfully flat course, encouraging marshals, loads of water, jelly babies on route, band to perk you up, able to see the other runners and shout at friends and a wondeful goodie bag with lovely cake to induce a sprint finish. Thank you Gosport I will be back for my 6th year in 2012

In short: An excellent race especially if you want a PB
In full: Again a well organisied event, but on the 65th anniversary It was always going to be. Shame people were still arriving at 10:50 and expecting that not to cause a problem, but the organisers were kind and delayed the start 15mins, which given it was a pleasant day did cause any great issue with those of us who arrive on time. Then excellent running throughout flat fast course with only a slight breeze this year resulting in the national standard for 5 miles for the first time. What a wonderful momento too.

In short: Excellent
In full: This has all the elements to make an average race, mid week, 10k, slightly hilly course, around a small town. But the organisation and sense of fun lift it to another level leaving most other races in its wake. Well done everyone involved as it is you who make this race with your commitment, enthusiasm and ability.
