In short: A gem of a race
In full: What to say that hasn't been said. Organisation - like clockwork, plentiful water and sponge stations all manned by supportive people, marshals - by far the most encouraging I've encountered for a long time, hills - frequent :) excellent medal and technical T-shirt and a goody bag full of things you actually WANT to eat! I'll be back next year for it's 20th anniversary run. Well done HRR.

In short: Excellent race - pity it's a one-off
In full: Although the 3 laps were quite tedious, particularly into the wind and rain, the marshals were brilliant and there were lots of spectators (probably mostly for the 10k) in the middle parts of each lap. The bit of lap round the docks area wasn't nice, more mentally tough than physically. I would do this again though, if they decide it's not a one-off. Well done GYRR

In short: Well organised, friendly race in lovely sunshine!
In full: My first back to back ultra and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Rory and his team make every runner feel special. Checkpoints well stocked, great tee-shirts both days. This is a good one to begin ultra running on because it's flat and there are very few places you could go wrong on the route.

In short: Lovely one lap through scenic villages
In full: First time for me for this race. Surprised at how few runners were doing it - may have had something to do with the heat though. A couple of undulations - nothing too bad, nice shady bits with a breeze, friendly marshals and scrummy cake at the end, in the posh HQ. Didn't mind the 20 min walk to/from start line, but it might have been a different story if it had been raining. Will be back. Well done WAC.

In short: My first Ultra - what a great one to start with!!
In full: This was 34 (although I did 35.5) miles of muddy fields, tough hills, uneven tracks and gravel paths but was like being on an adventure. Great cameraderie among the runners, smooth organisation, lovely T-shirt and medal and, oh yes, I managed to get joint 2nd lady, so got a trophy too! I'll be back next year, bringing all my running buddies! Well done GoBeyond team.

In short: A hidden gem
In full: I'm so excited by this race and it was truly one of the best marathons I've ever done. Magnificent in every respect.

In short: Hills, warm weather, pockets of headwind, not a good combination
In full: This really did makes parts ache that i didn't know i had. The marshals were excellent but i did suffer in the later miles and would have liked to have seen more spectators to help me through it. Bits of the course were extremely lonely. I found this too hard for me and the two-lap race destroyed me on the 2nd lap. I wouldn't do it again but only because i'm a wuss. I can see it's appeal for the many runners who turn up year after year.

In short: More undulations than flat bits!
In full: First time doing this race, found all the "undulations" quite challenging. Plenty of marshalls on this very windy course. Very well organised and the long-sleeved T-shirt very welcome in this weather.
