In short: At least no ice in the puddles this year ;)
In full: A recent reviewer said it lacked atmosphere... thats usually not the case (this was my 4th or 5th time here), BUT, this year the numbers did seem a bit down on previous occasions, and it seemed quieter all round.

In short: A pleasant race and location, let down this year by a change in vehicle access and start arrangements. Hopefully sorted for next year though.
In full: Race is probably a victim of its own success. Nice local event, good location with what used to be a friendly intimate atmosphere. More people this year + delays in car parking = 30 min delay in start. Organisers did their best under the circs. Hopefully things sorted for 2007.

In short: Enjoyable 10 miler - varied terrain to make things a bit challenging. Pleasant scenery to take your mind off things. Well organised and marshalled - Remember to bring change for the busking musical marshalls!

In short: Unbeatable scenery on a misty, sunny morning. Can think of no better way to spend a Sunday morn (well maybe one:-). Well organised - apart from loos and exiting the car park afterwards , though probably not many options here.
In full: Strange... we can put someone on the moon but still find it difficult to gauge how many loos are needed at an event - even when we know how many people are turning up beforehand and the sex split. I do worry about the human race sometimes. Apart from this the race was FANTASTIC! Unbeatable scenery and the hills... well it'd be boring without them, right? And how else can you get a good view over the Estate? Will I be back next year? You betcha! (Maybe with astronauts toilet bag!).

In short: Shame about the weather, but still a good atmosphere. Was well organised and in a nice setting. What better way to start off the year's running!

In short: Very enjoyable - nice mix of scenery and terrains, 'undulations' not too taxing, and atmosphere quite 'intimate' and friendly. Definitely on the calendar for next year!
In full: Probably goes without saying that this isn't the best race for those with dodgy joints, being multiterrain. Almost twisted my ankle twice...and watch out for the few hundred metres of single track in the last km - not the best if you're in a hurry to get past slower runners. These are minor points though - I really enjoyed it and intend coming back next year. See you there!

In short: Don't let the 2-3 hills put you off! This race has a v. friendly atmosphere and wonderful scenery; definitely one to put on the calendar for next year!
In full: Small field (4-500 ish?) but what it lacks in numbers it more than makes up for in atmosphere and scenery. Yes, the course is tough if you don't do much hill work, but there are only 2 longish slopes and the scenery takes your mind off such trivialities. What scenery? The two castles, misty fields fading into the distance, small lake, statues, woods etc. In a nutshell, something for everyone! Most enjoyable race I've done so far and definitely recommended.

In short: Just another race. Nothing memorable to bring you back.
In full: Moderately hilly (4 or 5 hills) so quite challenging from that respect. Potentially slow start - lots of runners and narrow roads so prepare to be held up if you're quick. Scenery average. Finish area all very business like. Didn't seem to be any spirit to the race. Nothing sticks in the mind. Disappointing.

In short: Better event than my individual scores probably suggest - very enjoyable!
In full: Nice surroundings and great crowd, both running and supporting. Check lap distance (closer to 6km than 5) and watch for small hill at the end (feels bigger after 2 laps!). Bring spare batteries for starter's megaphone.
