In short: Petts Wood Do it Again
In full: My 3rd attempt and even living local those hills still kill me !!!
PWR have once again laid on a 1st class event that sets the standards for us other Race Directors to live up to.
1st timer or ultra elite this is one hell of a course and seriously welcoming... event the weather is bright and sunny every year.

In short: Biased opinion from me !
In full: I ran the 1st event 5 years ago and was on the committee for years 2 - 4. This year I started and timed so apologies for bias in the report.

After setting off the Marathoners and Walkers I ran the half mystelf. It would appear that due to traffic the marshals at the A21 crossing had not recieved thier vests and WRONGLY directed the early runners on the left side of the road - This was I beleive corrected quickly as I reported the matter to the next marshalling station. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.
That said I was horrified to see some runners taking thier lifes into thier own hands and choosing to run in the road rather than on the grass verge, given that they had their backs to the cars along a 40MPH (60 more like) section of road. Fault lies with both parties here. Runners I passed on this section were shouted at to stay on the verge, but I could not catch a couple up ahead.

The course is due for a change next year. There will hopefully be far more OFF ROAD sections and Im looking to find a route that will encompass more trees and woods thus taking in the some of the hidden beauty of the area. DOWNSIDE it will get tougher !

This has always been a low key event designed for FUN. It was great to see so many 100 Marathon Club members in attendance and the general feedback is possitive.

All constructive points though are welcomed so enable the event to get better and better and to be more of what YOU all want from a great day out.

In short: Fantastic well planned 1st year from a club less than 1 year old
In full: Many of the mass participation events could learn a few things by visiting small clubs like PWR. This was a fantastic event that sold out. Given the club is under 1 year old this is a huge achievement. The atmosphere was great the course scenice. Lots of specators in the woods and marshalls.

In short: The first half is undulating with fantastic scenery. The second half is flat and made for PBs, ideal when the legs are starting t ache. Good atmosphere

In short: Only negative point was that the control centre and souveniers where a long way from the end and there was no clear signage advising of this

In short: 4 miles all on sand. Great atmosphere with lots of local first timers. Held in June its ideal for runners who can leave family on the beach with an ice cream while they race. Speed merchants can still still treat this as a very exciting tough race
