In short: Please not a mug again next time!
In full: Nicely organised though the loo queues looked ridiculous and the grass they were on will take sometime to recover! Leaflet says water station at 2.5 miles but first one is actually at mile 4 which could be upsetting. Support great at the end. No goody bag by the time I got there - just that nasty cheap mug AGAIN! Please can we have something different!

In short: Great race. Lots of fun!
In full: I run in Bushy Park most weekends but usually around the perimeter so didn't even know Leg of Mutton pond existed! My first trail race so glad it was dry. Really friendly marshalls, very straight forward organisation, the bacon rolls smelt wonderful! Thanks for organising the weather too!

In short: The scenery makes it!
In full: This is always a friendly race and I'm so impressed at how well the organisers fix the weather every year! Lots of support in the final stages. Loved the little boy handing out the medals and concentrating so hard on saying Well Done! Unlike many others, I prefer the medal! Full marks to Barretts for sponsoring it but I've no passionate desire to advertise for them!

In short: What's not to love!
In full: Bound to be great fun anyway but the organisation was great too! No problems at all! A MUST do for the calendar!

In short: Exactly what it said on the tin!
In full: 13 miles along the tow path of the Grand Union canal! Slightly ankle wrenching at points where you couldn't see what was under the leaves and not many overtaking options - but we knew that would be how it was.

Loos at start only downside. Yes, H'y it did say where they were in the literature but not that there was only one in the petrol station or that the public loos would be locked! Never did find out where the pub was. It really needs portaloos. Part of my race prep is endless pre race loo queueing and not being able to "go" at the last minute was rather off putting.

Nice chunky medal and look forward to doing it in the other direction!

In short: If only they could organise the weather!
In full: Very well organised race. Great support almost all the way round. Liked the ships but last 2 miles ought to be illegal in that wind! Still don't really understand the point of the waves - if anything it makes things worse because everyone in the orange wave seemed to think they had the right to stand at the front and it makes for a very long wait for people in the later waves when standing in the rain is not something you want to be doing.

In short: Very well organised. Long walk to the start!
In full: Very well organised, as last year. Pleased that important improvments had been made including more water and water in the goody bags. Some of the atmosphere of last year was lost by having the finish so far from the start - which also made for quite a hike from Regent's Park tube to the baggage store then back to the start. Excellent, friendly marshalls, particularly crossing the roads too.

In short: That was fun but you need some portaloos!
In full: That was a giggle but probably should have done some training on the stepper given the number of steps! Unusual to get water at the beginning so that was useful. But all of the ladies loos were blocked by 40 mins before the race. Lovely atmosphere and so good of the organisers to arrange to raise Tower Bridge. I'd never seen that "live" before so stopped for a couple picccies. I think it was a bit short although my Garmin was too confused by the tunnels to tell really!

In short: Very poor for such a big race
In full: Complete shambles at the kit storage. Did it come as a surprise that people might need to keep their warm stuff until near the start? Queue for the 0-7000 numbers was just a riot and I started queuing 40 mins in advance. Start is a ludicrously long way from the main area. Start time is daft for anyone trying to arrive by public transport - even getting the first train out of Surbiton I couldn't get to Reading in time for the alleged guaranteed shuttles. Drinks stations a total mess. Even when I found a woman with a free bottle she wouldn't let it go. Runners looking for Lucozade were struggling to open the boxes themselves. Freezing cold at the end and endless queues yet again for the baggage tent. I have never run a race even slightly this badly organised.

In short: Thanks for the choccies!
In full: Nicely organised, started on time. Plenty of loos for the numbers! - very impressed! Marshalls might need to be a bit more proactive at some junctions. Racers and cars were sorting themselves out while some marshalls seemed just to be standing there. Love the choccies at the end! Keeps me coming back!
