In short: Another good year...
In full: Brilliant, what a excellent run!!! You won't get your PB, but this is a nice tough course.. If you are up for a good time and can handle 8 miles and don't mind getting muddy then do this run, it is one my most favorite run I enter each year.

In short: Nice Day Out
In full: Nice Day Out, the stairs section was killing. nice T-shirts available (a pity you had to pay another £7.00, not most other races they are free if you complete the race such as the Muddy Woody).
Race was nice and challenging with stair section (yet not as tough as the Beacon race in Malvern), other than that no major climb. A word of warning run close to front in the first section, as I heard some people get delayed 45 seconds or longer on the first set of gates.

In short: Nice day out
In full: If you have young kids definitely go, as there is a nice fancy dress fun walk and other activities. It gives the kiddies a chance to have a nice 3km run/walk whist you can have a nice race in the 10km. I cracked myself as I watched one kid push his mate in a wheel borrow on the 3 km run.
The race was a multi lap run, consisting of 3 Laps (not one lap as stated on Runners World). I preferred this option as gave me a chance to judge my speed for the last two laps. If you are a beginner runner, I believe this is ideal as you can judge if your speed for the last two laps.
I am very, very impressed at the speed of the results where published (next day on web). Note this is not run by a professional race club, but then again that is some of the attraction of the run.
In the end for the day I had I would give it a five out of five, you may not get your personal best (but then do you need to).

In short: Brillant!!!
In full: Well what a brilliant day, nice crowd and plenty of Mud. This was my first time at the Slog, but it will not be my last.

If you interested in going next year and it is your first time be prepared to get VERY muddy, don't expect a PB for an 8 mile race and expect have plenty of fun.
