In short: well organised, very friendly, but hill plus summer heat = no chance of a pb
In full: Any reason why the top 10 men get prizes but only the top 5 women. Doesn't seem fair to me.

In short: Well organised and friendly, but one of those races that seems to have more uphill than down. A real challenge in the heat.

In short: Great fun. Very friendly, inclusive, and some lovely scenery. Steep hill balanced out by lots of downhill.

In short: pleasant race, scenic and friendly. Pity about the bullying official at the finish line
In full: I did this race with my mum, who was racing for the first time at the age of 62 and was very nervous. It's a pretty fast course, well marshalled and with a mix of very fast runners and beginners. What spoiled it for us was the bulling attitude of one of the finish line officials. After having finished, I took off my number and ran back to find my mum. I was then berated for running through the finish line a second time. I now realise that this wasn't appropriate, but I simply didn't know that at the time. The level of aggression displayed by the official was completely unnecessary. Not a good impression to give someone taking their first steps in the running world.

In short: hills + heat = tough going, but wonderful support from crowd and runners alike
In full: It seems I wasn't along in having signed up to Edinburgh post-London in a bid to improve my time. In the end, the weather put paid to that. Just to finish was a real achievement. Those last 3 miles, uphill all the way, with the midday sun on your back were some of the most difficult I have ever run. The race was generally well organised with lots of water, though faulty mile markers really threw out my pacing. Wonderful crowds, and great cameraderie at the finish.

In short: despite the added length, I found this a friendly and enjoyable race
In full: didn't look at my watch after 7 miles, but nevertheless was surprised to reach the finish in a slower time than I'd anticipated. The mystery was soon solved though, as the organisers owned up to an unintentional added extra 0.7 mile. Which means I probably did a pb, which is why I'm not too upset. I found this a really friendly race, with lots of support from marshals and other runners.

In short: challenging - especially the uphill in the last 2 miles, but great scenery and very friendly
In full: compared to London (my 1st) this was a great chance to stretch your legs and run at your own pace. The uphill in the last 2 miles wasn't appreciated, and spectator support around the course was patchy, but v friendly, organisers. More loos most definitely required!!!!
