In short: A few big hills in 1st half, lots of little ones in 2nd half
In full: A really challenging race. It's a great course although much of the best scenery is early on and the last few miles of pain is through less interesting farm land. Lots of water and such friendly people. Accurate mile markers would be nice, and had a hot wait of 25 mins on the bus back to Avebury in spite of it being the "last call" for the bus. Otherwise very good and will be back

In short: Insane.
In full: Awful conditions made this really tough. Endless mud. Impossible hills. Wind and rain. Every mile seemed like 2.
Great tea and cakes at HQ. showers were cold at an early stage which was a shame. A special mention to Dave who spent ages helping me and others get our atrophied shoes off at the race HQ. marshalling generally awesome on a rubbish day weather wise.

In short: Good but room for improvement
In full: Very tough course-few sections where you could take eyes off the ground safely. Some indifferent marshalling lead to confusion about routes. Could be more to do- lots of kids and families there but no refreshments etc. Love the glass and doughnut kept junior happy!

In short: The long and winding and hilly road
In full: Fabulous course on really quiet and scenic lanes. Lovely scene at the finish with cakes, massage etc.

In short: I don't know his name.....
In full: but the guy with the lovely smile who organises this and who stands in fields directing traffic and stuff early on freezing Gloucestershire mornings and on late summer evenings time after time so that we can do crazy things like this is one of my all time heroes.
A thousand thanks to all involved, this is the best race I know.

In short: Good enough event on a harsh day
In full: Main problem was that it wasn't well signposted coming from the south, I drove straight past the HQ and nearly missed the race a mile away where the GPS took me and several others.
Otherwise, small and friendly, quite flat course, lots of prizes and drinks in the chuirch after wards.

In short: Diabolically good
In full: It's the kind of race that just makes you glad to be alive. I mean still alive by the end. A perilous course with every possible underfoot hazard, horrid hills, plummetting descents , branches, heat, wind, roots, rocks. I loved the flat grassy bit at the end, most of the rest left me with some big questions about my sanity.
Organisation superb pretty much start to finish. Great location, total family atmosphere with kids races, playground, food etc.
Absolutely stunning event, I will apreciate my next flat road event so much more for it.

In short: Greatly improved since 2 years ago to a very good race
In full: Apart from a long queue to get into the car park on arrival, this was a very good experience.
The start is a bit crowded and narrow, but the new route (since my last event 2008) is a big improvement. After a few miles through town and quiet suburbs, there is a great section through beautiful country lanes which are CLOSED TO TRAFFIC!. Total luxury to be able to focus on views and running without the stress of cars trying to pass by, this is a big winner for me.
Very good, will be back again for sure.

In short: Pretty good event
In full: It seemed a lot less chaotic at the start than with the old arrangement, altho I agree that it should be penned by time as the start is so narrow.
Great support and fine course. Bottle of lucozade great at the finish.
Improvements I would like to see:
~some kids activities or a race round the field
~more ways to get out of the parking field
~something to eat at the end
~give the option of refusing the medal on entry as I don't collect them so it is wasted completely.
