In short: Excellent organisation and scenic race
In full: Second time I have done this race in 6 months and I love it!! Well organised and you only have to look at the hard work done by Dave Norman and the organisers in getting this rescheduled so quickly following the snow postponement!!

Scenic route along lanes near Dunham Massey and National Trust land. Weather was perfect today and there were lots of different abilities who were cheered on by the friendly marshals. Particularly like the calling out of times at 1mile and 5 mile.

Would recommend to anyone looking to do a 10k race. Well worth it and bonus of £5 voucher to spend at Sweatshop (not that I need an excuse to visit them in Hyde!!)

In short: Ho ho ho!!
In full: First Santa run and despite concerns the trousers would fall down on the way round they managed to stay up! Really enjoyed it although was roasting by 3.5k in the suit!! Would have been better if it was more in centre of Manchester as we all ended up at the Christmas Market after.

In short: Well organised and fast
In full: First time i have done this 10K and glad i did. As a 'plodder' I was pretty much on my own most of the time so not over crowded and i got best time this year at 10k. Nice route along country lanes and flat and fast. Well organised and well done to the guys at Sweatshop Hyde for getting emails out to everyone when they couldnt get the chips until race day.

Definetely one for the calendar for next year and hopefully a pb!!

In short: Challenging and enjoyable. Excellent scenery and very well organised.
In full: I'd choose Macclesfield over GNR anyday. Very well organised, low cost entry, superb scenery, nice t-shirt and friendly marshalls. Its a challenge with the hill bits but the downhills compensate. If i'd managed Whirley Lane better (hill at 11 mile) I'm sure i'd have beaten my pb! But 2.13 will do me for my first attempt. Probably be back next year. Throughly enjoyed it. View is worth the run up the hill to see out towards Joddrell Bank.

In short: Hills, hills and more hills...what a challenge!!
In full: This was my Humber Bridge Half and knew it would be tough as pals live in Barton and we drove the route the week before so I knew what i'd let myself in for. Left in good time from Barton to queue for car park...good job left early as not many loos...but there are never enough where ever you race!! Was extremely disappointed that they copped out on water bottles..poor lady couldnt pour water into cups quick enough!! Would not had minded paying a bit extra to have water bottles instead of cups..organisers please note!! Had to walk at each water station to drink whereas with a bottle could carry on and probably not use every one as would have at least double the amount!! Apart from that a fab race - hardest I have done..second best time! Talked my pals into doing it next year and I will be back..would have been nice to be traffic free as found myself having to ask car to stop so I could get across the road on two occassions!! Gravel pit wasnt too bad to climb at 9 miles - it was the climb back onto the bridge that was the killer between 10-11 miles! Still managed not to walk and keep running though!! Nice friendly crowds and very supportive. See you next year (would also like the breeze booking for then too!!)

In short: Super fast course - PB's all round!! Shame about the rain but I like running in the rain :)
In full: Did the one at Christmas and knocked a whacking 5 mins off that time!! Very flat so excellent PB course. Well organised and friendly marshalls encouraging everyone. Will be back in december for the Christmas race to try to get another PB!! Mainly club runners but good mix - good race to do if its your first time out.

In short: Challenging 10k - good atmosphere and nice to go off road!
In full: First time of doing this one and was I surprised at the hills!! Couple steep and couple not so steep on 2 circuit off road on trails/road. The hill at the end was a killer for me but kept going to finish on grass running track which seemed to last forever. Not beginner friendly unless you are used to hills. Was disappointed it took me just over 60 mins as was looking to finish in under an hour. Will probably try again next year as it was a challenge. Marshalls friendly and very encouraging. Well organised. Well done and hope to see you next year!

In short: A two lap circuit, not traffic free. Worth trip though..friendly race
In full: A two lap circuit. Good mix of club runners and fun runners. A couple of sneaky short inclines as didnt know the area. Fairly well organised and friendly, supportive marshalls. Worth trip to Crewe and to justify eating my Easter Eggs afterwards :). Defintely do it again. PB potential -my best 10km time to date.

In short: Been meaning to do it for last 3 years..well worth the wait. Personal bests all round - definetely on the calendar for next year!
In full: Well organised race - chip timing would make it better though. Fast start - I'm a 9.50-10 minute miler and I did first 3 in 24 minutes!! Well supported race with plenty of supportive marshalls and spectators. Getting away after the race was a bit of a nightmare and we only live 8 miles away. Will be back next year to try to break my PB again!
