In short: A Fantastic Event - My 3rd time and stiil a Magic Ultra! In full: The Race Director - Sid certainly knows how to run a race for runners! A great event for all levels of experience. The event can be very conpetitive at the 'sharp end' or a real social event that is a halmark of multilap events.
I will be running again in 2009, this is one of my favourite events. Date of review: July 27, 2008
In short: Toilets, Showers, Start and Medal all need to be reviewed. In full: The race and course were great and I always welcome another new Marathon! The Marshalls were fantastic and deserve special mention. I will certainly be back next year to improve my time.
Items to be reviewed for 2008 include the toilets at the start, The cold showers at the end of the race - particularly if you are holding the event in November. The Medal was also very disappointing particularly for a Marathon - I would expect to receive a small plastic medal for a local 5K event - Marathons deserve proper reward with nice medals.
Overall the race has great potential and should improve over the next 4 years and beyond. Date of review: November 11, 2007
In short: A great venue for a race, however the camber of the race track caused me some feet problems. In full: I would certainly do the race again as it was a pleasent change to be running on a race circuit. Be aware that the slope / camber of the race track is very hard on the feet and did cause me some problems. The lack of changing facilities and bag storage were also disappointing. We all received a great Goodie Bag - See everyone next year! Date of review: February 12, 2006
In short: The Late Start, 11am, made this race VERY Hot and Very Hard Work In full: On a very hot day the 11am start was the only small issue with this race.
Very Nice touches with the music out on the course at 5 miles, great organisation, parking, drinks, etc.
This is not a PB course , apart from the heat, there were very uneven sections of grass track across the fields in which there are hidden potholes and ruts. Care needed to be taken to avoid twisting ankles which slowed times. Date of review: September 4, 2005
In short: Fantastic - a Race for everyone - 10K to Marathon! In full: This event is excellent. A Walk and a Run, a 10k, 20K, 30k, 40k and a Marathon. There is something for everyone in this event from Beginner to Veteran! I recommend this event to everyone and will be suggesting it to my Running club!
My only SLIGHT disappointment was that the medal given to the runners has 'Walk' stamped on it. Date of review: August 15, 2005
In short: The Start needs to be fixed. In full: All the late arrivals started from the front due to the very poor Start arrnagements. I spent half the race overtaking slow, late arrivals. Need to be fixed.
In short: The Hill was Fun, the Downhill was better! In full: The Mile Markers appeared to be incorrect or I was going really quick up the hill. I was also slightly concerned about the danger from the cars. Date of review: December 14, 2004
