In short: excellent well organised race with some good touches
In full: second time I've run this and very enjoyable once again especially as the wind mostly held off. Some good touches, marshalls calling out splits at 5,10 and 15 miles. very encouraging marshalls all along the route and a nice downhill finish. Only minor gripe was no water at the end, I know I'm not fast but was reasonably mid pack, 2.47 so bit suprised they run out of water so early. Apart from that small point a very enjoyable fast well organised race, many thanks to all the unpaid organisers, will be back next year

In short: as always my favourite race of the year !
In full: Brian and his team always make this a great race, superb organisation, loads of water stations and encouraging marshalls, local support and a great prize with your name announced over the tannoy as you race for the finish. !! This year Brian even managed to organise the cooler weather after the 30C temperatures of previous years, all he's got to do now is try not to have the gale force winds !!! although thew were defintely welcome behind you on the last few miles ! Thanks again brian for a great race and also for letting me beat you , now 2 years on the trot, ta mate !

In full: really enjoyed the first running of this race, a great route, uphill on the way out and a great blast back downhill on the way back. Plenty of encouraging marshalls, a very nice goody back and cakes at the finish, what more could you ask for. many thanks to the organisers for a great race

In short: loved it last year, and exactly the same this year, superb race !
In full: Well organised, friendly marshalls, nice route with a flat few miles at the start to warm you up before the uphill bits although nothing too sadistic. nice downhill bit towards the end and was nicely suprised to get a spot prize for my 400m sprint finish even if i did nearly collapse on the line...and 40 seconds faster than last year. Thanks to all the organisers, a great race and i'll be there again next year

In short: Why do I keep coming back ?? because it is the absolute best half marathon around, superb organisation, incredible support from crowds and marshalls, the best !!
In full: Another top result from Brian Porter ! Thanks mate !! and also thanks for finally letting me beat you !!! Fantastic day as always, from the parking at the start to the well supportive marshalls all the way round, the crowds cheering you on, not a step wrong. That was a particularly nice touch less than a mile from the end when you had a couple of marshalls with a walkie talkie telling the announcer at the finishing line your name AND THEN YOU COULD HEAR HIM SHOUTING OUT YOUR NAME !! what a fantastic pick me up when the legs are hurting right at the end , the finishing line might not of been in sight but it was certainly in earshot !! Oh yeah and thanks for well nice mug at the prize, too many times you get duff t-shirts or even duff mugs, not this time, very very nice, will be using it every day, just like the glasses from a couple of years back. Thanks again Brian and make sure you pass on my thanks to all the many marshalls, organisers etc, they did a fantastic job !!! If you only ever do one half marathon THIS is the one !!

In short: very well organised, lovely varied terrain, encouraging marshalls, in short spot on !!
In full: first time for this race and it won't be the last. great scenary, bit of flat to start with then a nice bit of undulating countryside with a bit of shade from the hot sun, with a welcome water station halfway round. Nicely downhill for the last mile or so made for an excellent finish. Big well done to the very encouraging marshalls thanks for a great race.

In short: yet again Brian Porter and team make this my absolute favourite race of the year. Brilliant from the marshalls to the water & sponge stations just can't fault it
In full: A lovely rural slightly undulating route combined with clockwork organisation, enthusiatic marshalls, plenty of water and wet sponge stations and local support cheering you on make this a 'must do' race. The race commentator announcing almost every finisher home with their names over the loudspeakers just adds a finishing touch to a fantastic race. Will be doing this one as long as I can one foot in front of another...cheers Brian and the team !!
