In short: Superbly organised in atrocious conditions. When other races were cancelled due to the weather, Benfleet stayed calm and caried on!
In full: Really friendly. The snow came down but the race went ahead. All the Benfleet RC people were so friendly and helpful.

In short: Great mud, great fun!
In full: Whatever you're ability, you'll have a great time. This is a very different race which you can either belt round in 1 hr 30 mins or stroll round in 4 hrs. No-one minds and everyone is encouraging and friendly.

In short: It's a toughie!
In full: The course is tough for a half-marathon - you'd be pushed to find one with more hills; and some of them are killers! However, it's a great venue and with good weather, a very special race. I would hate to run it in bad weather though.

In short: Very friendly and well organised.
In full: It was very touching that the organisers made efforts to call out runners' names. The marshalls were plentiful and very pleasant.
Running along the canal can be tricky with the surface uneven and slippery in places. It's also a bit boring after a while.

In short: Testing 10 miler; well organised
In full: Get through the first 4 miles and the whole race improves drammatically. It is well worth doing and will test every grade of runner.

In short: Forget the big cities, this is one of the best marathons you can do.
In full: What a great event this is. The course is brilliant and the support from the marshalls and the drink stations is the best you'll find.
