In short: A real gem of a race!
In full: Pretty much everything you could want from a half-marathon...lovely scenic route through small villages which were dotted with locals happy to cheer/clap us on despite the drizzle.
9 am start was wise-indeed, could easily have been a normal June day which would have meant 20 degrees by 12. As it was, the weather was cool with light rain, i.e. perfect distance running conditions...
A very friendly group of runners, all happy to chat throughout the event, maybe not the last 1/2 mile!
A reasonably flat route with only a couple of inclines (nothing for someone from the Chilterns) meant that PBs were definitely available although it did seem a little long to me; GPS read 13.27 miles...
All-in-all a fabulous event, hope to be back next year perhaps with a bigger field although hopefully not too big. Congratulations to the event organisers, great job guys!!

In short: Nicely organised, reasonably rapid, undulating (not hilly) race...
In full: I last did this race 4 or 5 years ago and I have to say, not much has changed. It was as much fun as I remembered and yes I think the undulations (I won't call them hills because they're not really substantial enough) made the course more enjoyable... An unusually hot day for April meant that very fast times were difficult but all-in-all it was an enjoyable event.

In short: Great organisation, friendly marshals, a good route & pretty good support make this an enjoyable experience!
In full: My first time at this local race, I can't believe I've not known about it before... Will be back next year better prepared to run a PB as should be possible on this course. Would be interesting to see if the route is any faster in reverse though...

In short: Fine marshalling & a good course except for the silly narrow path at the end!d
In full: Also it seemed to me to be slightly longer than 10 miles, my GPS showed 10.11 & judging by all the beeping gadgets en-route I wasn't the only one to find this. It's one thing to have a quick course enabling PBs but it really shouldn't be longer than 10 miles!!

In short: Good course, water & sponges, a nice medal and excellent marshalling, what more can you ask for?
In full: Only niggles were with the bank at the start/finish which caused most of the field to stop and walk (wusses) and the distance of the parking from the start, which was >1 mile!

In short: Once again a super 10K-oriented day-out! Well done to Mark and his team for making it such a fun event. As with last year's race, the hot weather meant a PB was difficult but what do you expect when you have a race in June?!

In short: As ever the Stragglers reign supreme! Well-organised, excellently-marshalled & a mostly agreeable route. Roll-on Autumn 2007!!
In full: One organisation point deducted for lack of medium t-shirts (after only 75 minutes) and the fairly useless (and not recyclable) wired-up race numbers...why not do it properly and use chips next year?
