In short: An amazing Challenge!
In full: It couldn't have been a better day for experiencing some breathtaking scenery in the Lake District. For a first Marathon event the organisation was spot on marshals and stewards were friendly and encouraging, plenty of water stations to suppliment my own supply and a nice touch at the finish being handed a well earnt medal by the race organiser. A challenging course but that was expected for an off road marathon around Coniston... that's what the event was all about in my mind. I'll be back for more please do it again!.

In short: A very sticky run!
In full: I really enjoyed this event, very sticky mud under foot with all the overnight rain but it turned out to be a sunny day. I have done many Lakeland Trails events now and always find the courses very well marked and marshalled and the most amazing scenery this event was no exception. I found my way around with no problems as did the race winner who finished the 18km in 67mins without a step wrong. So I can only wonder what happened to those who led other competitors astray... did they look for markings because they were there and if they ran for several kms without seeing any course markings why didn't they turn around to get back on course and also let the other competitors know they had gone wrong rather then let a whole group follow them?????
Last year I belive some marshalls had to leave their posts to deal with a medical incident on the course this is why you need to be prepared to look for and follow course markings. It's a shame this has distracted some from what was a really good day. Thankyou to those who make this event happen. I will be back for more!

In short: Wild, windy but a lot of fun!
In full: Well done to the Lakeland Trails Team for coping with wild weather thrown at them again. It was challenging on the hills but all the more rewarding and just as spectacular scenery as ever. I'm getting my entry in for next years series!

In short: The shortened course was still amazing and the marshals as friendly as ever
In full: A good call to shorten the route I wouldn't have wanted to climb the Garburn pass in snow and heavy rain showers and there were some! with or without full kit which I would expect to carry at this sort of event.
A warm welcome at the finish and a lovely Wilf's meal and hot drink topped the day with a large marquee to relax in and keep out of the rain.......I don't think this was meant for a changing room as some suggest?
The marshals were great and it must have taken some organising to move them all to the new route so well done to the organisers.
I can't wait for Derwentwater and hope the sunshines on this one so we finally get to see those views of the lake!

In short: Trail running at it's best!!!
In full: A new trail race from the organisers of the Lakeland Trails. Nice graded hills and amazing views. I could even run most of this one. Brilliant organisation as always with these races. The sunshine and snow capped mountains just added to the experience. I'll be back for more.

In short: Amazing scenery and a lot of fun!
In full: A fabulous weekend of trail running in the Lake District and one of the nicest weekends of the year. The well earned Wilf's meal was great and a fun, friendly finish area was welcoming. Thankyou to the VO2 Max Team once again.
