In short: A well organised race let down by some silly faults
In full: I thought it was well marsahlled and friendly. I enjoyed the race. I got a PB by just 26 seconds but I reckon I could have done better without the wind/quicker water stations. AND I am not sure the chip thing can be that accurate... some folks MUST have run over the distance.

Did anyone get that little warning in the pack about failure to hand in the chip if you don't do the race costing you a £10 penalty? When I think about that little warning, coupled with the lack of start and finish chip technology... it's annoying..

In short: Excellent despite injury
In full: walked the last 7 miles due to injury in my knee, having started well.

HUGE big thanks to Ben who walked alongside me and kept my chin up for the last few miles and helped me stop groaning!

What an experience.

In short: Smart.
In full: dead friendly, run by decent folks you can tell. Just the kind of race you want to do. Not all covered in branding everywhere. Goody bag dead heavy with loads of loot and a nice glass ornament thingy to boot, but not INSTEAD of a teeshirt, AS WELL AS one!

*Slight gripe* sometimes the water stations were understocked.

In short: All good. Probs at the end perhaps due to it getting bigger and bigger?
In full: Maybe better next time to work out a start/finish in Ally park somewhere (more room).

And get a decent PA!

In short: Could have done better here, for sure
In full: (shouldn't that say Asics on your link?)
I had a good run. I feel good today.

It strikes me that this event had as its goal to make money. Given it said teeshirt as memento I expected one. There were enough sponsors listed on the race literature to suggest that enough cash was there to give away a cheap tee. NOT TO OFFER ONE FOR SALE!!!

Anyhow, it is true that half of this race was dead nice, along the river. It was a good atmosphere. But there were too many folks on too narrow a track for too long. Maybe the start needed staggering more?

Would it not have been a good idea for the marshalls to at least mention to impatient mountain bike riders or runners in the opposite direction that it might be dangerous/annoying for both runner and rider if they insisted upon crawling among us all on the track... maybe better to wait a bit...

Also the chap whose young lads joined him for a bit, then one of them fell into the road... that could have got a bit messy couldn't it?

It did seem a bit like an obstacle course at some stages!

Some other races organised by clubs and volunteers seem to beg borrow and (hopefully not) steal their way towards impressive goody bags at the end of races - it's not the incentive but it's definitely very good to get one - and with the "impressive" list of sponsors for this race, I think it was the minimum one could have expected.

In short: Very friendly folk ran, and organised this race.
In full: I was just happy to hear that I hadn't done my PW by over 10 minutes! A bit of a disappointment though, all things considered.

In full: Maybe the chip didn't work? I will contact them. It's a bit annoying.

In short: A great race. My first HM, and therefore a new PB!
In full: I thought the organisers were dead on. Marshalls were very encouraging. I might have chosen an easier HM for my first I reckon (by that I mean flatter) but I feel very good to have done it. Is this really commenting on Watford 1/2 M? It says Junior Challenge at the top of the page...
