In short: Great race. Good fun.
In full: Early in the season. A great start to the season if you get good weather. Relaxed atmosphere and suits starters right up to the chaps who actually enjoy the long asents.

In short: Great race.
In full: An excellent ultra for the enthusiast or as training for bigger things. Starting in pretty and undulating countryside before hitting the hassle free navigation and flat of the towpath. Except for a public utilities forced detour onto some roads the route was almost traffic free. This in itself made it special. I will be enjoying it again next year.

In short: Nice race, funny clock.
In full: It is a great race in a beautiful area. However, to the alarm of many people the finish times have been stuffed up.

In short: What a race. Fantastic course.
In full: Someone who does not know the area might consider the route a bit 'hilly'. But if you arrive expecting regular climbing then you will love this race. With good weather the scenery is first rate.

In short: Great race. Do it again in a flash.
In full: A very big thank you to 209 Events. The very kindest of marshals helped me to the start when this Aussie duffer missed the coach. It really was very kind (Thank you Wendy!) and saved me from moping around all weekend as I had looked forward to running this race all month. A great course and well organised. Excellent effort, thank you. (People have commented on £30 fee but as it is well organised, has transport, stocked with sports drinks and you get a good technical shirt with your medal it is well worth the extra few £'s over some others!)

In short: Great fun. Do it every year as a first race for season. Sometimes wet/breezy but the good organisation and indoor areas make it a pleasure.
