In short: Lots of positives but areas to work on
In full: After being billed as one of the biggest 10 milers in the world, it slightly disappointed in some areas, including the layout of the starting area - car park and baggage areas, with the start and 'shopping' area slap in the middle meant lots of jostling. Poor signage as to where anything was - thank heavens for the big flags otherwise i'd never have found the charity area..........

Plus side - great crowds, nice route (pinched in places), good warm up and atmosphere, never felt like there were 20k people there which is probably a good thing (or I'd be saying it was packed!)

Worth it for the experience - for the entry cost there are better city centre races in the country (Inc Bath, Bristol)

In short: Decline needs arresting!
In full: Good points:

Cardiff is a fantastic city - lots of things to see and do, and this race highlighted a few of those. The Bay is an ideal location for start and finish. Route was great in places, good support throughout. St John's ambulance were amazing - didnt need to use them, but plenty did.

Needs improvement:

Revert back to the old course - the dual carridge way and the back and round the bridge was soul destroying. Where was Bute Park? Where was the run through the Castle?

Toilets - not great

Screw caps - school boy error, seen so many people slip and injury themselves

Sports drinks station and water station together - I may be a man, but running and juggling two bottles was too much (photographer was just after this point - what great pics he'll have got!)

Goody bag - knock £10 off the entry fee, keep the medal and leave it at that. Whilst i enjoyed the Redbush and toothpaste - what were they doing there?! The special offer energy drink capped it all off, split most of it, but luckily my extra large tshirt stopped my feet from getting wet!

Hope the organisers take everyones feedback on board - its a good race, could be a great race.

In short: Worth a go!
In full: Good race, nice and fast, bit dull once run under the Suspension Bridge and back, but apart from that its a nice fast course.

Downside: Cobbles - I know they are loved by some, but for other (like me) they are a nuisance, and slowed me down considerably. A route which by passed the cobbles would have got top marks.

Special praise for the marshalls, st johns and paramedics there - saw some many people collapse, and within seconds help was there, and ambulance called (when needed). Well done all of you, should be very proud.

In short: Fantastic route, scenery and value
In full: Great race - lovely route through the country side (could see evidence of people being made aware of race and there were few cars). Best water stops of any race - so many and manned (and womaned, and childed - if thats a word!) by super supportive individuals in fancy dress.
Organisation was brilliant - great finish, with lots of space to conk out at the end!
Well worth the entry fee

(maybe need a few more toilets at the start next year)

In short: Peaceful point to point - not for those who thrive on crowd support!
In full: Good race - well organised.

Thought the filtering of runners worked well so as not to overload the course.

Tunnel was ok - uneven under foot, not sure I enjoyed it as much as others (just wanted to get through it ASAP, as many were reduced to walking pace).

Probably not ideal for those doing a first half - very few people on the course to support but if you like the peaceful plod point to point, with minimal undulations this is the race for you.

PB wise - it depends on the weather - ideal running conditions would lend this to a PB course, boiling hot as it was on Sat was not ideal!
