In short: Flat there ,flat back, flat sands, flat out
In full: Loved this, absolutely loved it.It's more of a run than a race, though that's not to say it doesn't hurt.To call it unique doesn't do it justice and the fellow runners were really friendly loads of banter both before during and after the race. You'd be mad not to do this at least once, life affirming fun!
Wading through rivers running on ground you can feel move beneath your feet and mad wind that helps and hinders(encouraging people to run in packs and chat as they do)so brilliant stuff!
Not a chance I'll miss this one next year

In short: Sun,Sand and Superb Scenery
In full: Is this the Best North Run?
As good as always,no wonder this is rated as the best run in the U.K. by the running masses, friendly well organised marshalls,a course that can push you on a bit, glorious views of the Northumberland coast and great mixed terrain.
The run to do before you consider hanging up your shoes as once you have you'll keep training for the next one!

In short: so that's what all the fuss was about
In full: First time I'd run London (second marathon) and as expected it's a very well organised race, though the start from Blackheath was mobbed-not that that's a surprise. The crowds were incredible indeed at times I almost found the noise too much, must be an age thing! The free train/tube use was a nice touch too.

In short: Hills,Thrills and Lots of Aches
In full: Good testing half with a couple of sharp climbs and one nasty hill. That said it's a loop so you get all the climbing back.Really cheerful marshalls and good traffic control, nice to have lots of loos laid on prior to the start so no major queues formed-at least I wasn't aware of any-a myriad of water stations and an isotonic drinks table to on the way round.A good challenging run with lots of friendly support

In short: Bracing racing and a hand with the pacing
In full: Whilst the course could not be called beautiful it's certainly fast with a couple of sharp(ish),short climbs.
The runners world pacers seemed to perform their alloted tasks too(hats off to anyone who can carry a sign and keep the pace bang on).
As for items to catch the eye how many race organiseres would arrange to have a cargo boat sticking out of the distant shores just for the running fraternity??
Though it would not get my vote for all time favourite it's a well organised, dependable run and an ideal warm up for those contemplating spring marathons.

In short: Ahead for heights and delights
In full: Oh it's hard but it's fun! A great work out for everyone, hard hills and speedy slopes, tarmac and trails it's got to be one of the best runs Yorkshire has to offer-and there's a few to choose from-It's well marshalled by freindly folk and on days like today, sunny with excellent views, utter bliss. The hills may be frequent (and they are) but with steady pacing this run is a treat of a trot!!
