In short: Poor organisation, lack of atmosphere
In full: Lack of support around the course (apart from two or three key points) and the long tedium of Meanwood Rd mean it wasn't a very inspiring run. I'm sure there are nicer parts of Leeds to run in. The charity side of it is good for getting non-runners joining in though.

In short: Flat, v v hot, v little shade!
In full: The start wasn't well signposted - could we have a banner or something across the road next year so we know when to start our watches please?

Some support at the start, more at the end but very little in between.

Big thanks to the people at the water stations - I was SOOO glad to see you!

In short: A scenic race with a mix of club and non-club runners but with a competitive atmosphere
In full: A really nice route taking in the town, the Westwood and the country lanes. More supporters this year made a real difference - last year it had thinned out in town by the time I finished! Marshalls were all very encouraging.

In short: Fab atmosphere, great support, wonderful day
In full: The wave starts obviously need more organisation - our pink section was walked forwards and then late orange arrivals were trying to squeeze in next to us - made it very busy at the start, more so than last year

In short: Good for athletes, daunting and demoralising for beginners
In full: As a beginner, larger races are much better in that you can blend into the crowd. Getting back into running after a period of injury, I was annoyed to find a police van hot on my heels and urging me to speed up! I only ran 3 minutes slower than my pb - in other 10km's I have run this has been the average pace, here in Beverley I felt like a failure, completely demoralised and not sure that I want to race again....

In short: A really good day - great for getting a good time
In full: Lack of supporters during miles 7-9 and around the dockyard was disappointing (especially when compared to the Great North Run crowds) but overall a well organised, flat, not-too-crowded (although enough people to be anonymous) race.
