In short: Better than the BUPA Great Yorkshire Run! In full: Loved the spectator support. Organisation excellent. Great medal and teashirt. Goody bag far better than BUPA's. Great value also.
Well done Middlesbrough, for hosting an excellent run! I hope to be back next year! Date of review: September 19, 2007

In short: Well organised, but .......... In full: Expensive, boring route, poor spectatorship, and if that was a goody bag, I'd hate to see what a saddy bag looks like. The only pluses for me were the big screen at the 5k mark, the medal and teashirt - and I loved Sheffield, for the first time of visiting it. Date of review: September 19, 2007

In short: Please move it back to the 9th October! In full: Great run which goes from strength to strength, and this year there was the addition of Lucozade Sport, amongst the drink stations. However, I can't help but wonder if moving it towards the back end of October is such a smart move, given the horrendous weather this year. Date of review: October 24, 2006

In short: Brilliant - even better than last year! In full: The race was brilliantly organised. Plenty of water, good atmosphere, good pb potential, really nice marshalls. Well done Graham Jackson and the YMCA Harriers. Date of review: June 26, 2006

In short: Organisation to perfection! In full: First marathon, and definitely my last! However, I would not have missed the experience for all the world. It is true that the crowds do support you - the like I have never seen before in any half marathon. Simply the best! Any one serious enough about running should try the London Marathon, just once, rather than miss an experience of a lifetime. Date of review: April 24, 2006

In short: Second time of doing the Great South Run and hope to be back next year! In full: My favourite of all the Great Runs Keep it in Pompey - keep it near the sea front, and please DON'T MAKE IT TOO BIG, and spoil it. Thank you.

In short: Excellent!! In full: Second time of doing this half-marathon, and definitely hope to be back next year. Well done to Mike James, and everyone concerned with the event. You all made this run a resounding success, and what better way to finish than with a really nice medal, personalised teashirt, and a welcome goody bag with fruit, biscuits and bottle of water. In short: Scorching Day! Although there was no water at the first water station for the 'back of the pack,' there was water further on. Bearing in mind it was a 10K - full marks for having any water at all on route! In full: A nice run with lots of friendly marshalls. I hope to be back next year! Date of review: June 26, 2005

In short: Another overcrowded Great North Run in the making!? In full: For the second year of entering, I was disappointed with this year's event. Less chance of a PB this year, compared to last year. More runners, more bottle-necks, more elbows, apologies and rows of walkers four and five abreast, stoppping dead in their tracks, causing potential falls. More aggressive marshalls at the end of the run. Less spectator support on route compared to last year's event. The positives - nice teashirt and medal!
I think I'll try the City of Manchester10K
