In short: Good atmosphere, enthusiastic crowds, nice environment, good weather, nice course...but In full: Credit to Bristol for growing the race to the size it is. But there are lessons for next time... The organisation at the start and finish didn't cater for the expanded number of runners and their supporters. I couldn't get into the start queue and felt stressed in the heat. The early part of the course was too narrow causing bunching. At the end, after crossing the line with legs wobbling, I entered the finishing 'pen' and couldn't find a way out, having to do several shakey circuits before finally climbing through the fence. And there wasn't anyhting to eat in the goody bag either. And it was far too crowded to find my fan club (wife and daughter!) But the run was great and the Bristol crowds were fantastic. Bristol organisers - keep the race growing - it's amazing how much it has progressed over the years to become such a major event. But make enough space for the runners and their supporters. In short: The feeling of running in a BIG race but in a friendly environment. It's my local race and it keeps getting better. Date of review: December 21, 2004
