In short: Fantastic mix of mud, water, hills and distance
In full: 3rd year of doing Hellrunners and I think it's just got better. Excellent organisation and whilst it seems a pricey entrance fee for a cross country run I certainly feel I've had a great day.

In short: Great race but did anyone else think the chip timing was out?
In full: Excellent course - especially the first 6 miles - and the hill 'hurt'! Good turnout and well organised but, unless it's just my watch, I got a chip time that was about 45 seconds slower than my watch. I'm no speedster but it was my best half marathon time (either watch or chip time) so I'd like to know if my best just got better.

In short: It was hot and it hurt! Can't wait to do it again.
In full: What a brilliantly organised race. Shame you have to use South Eastern trains to get to Blackheath - they were a shambles. Fantastic crowds and, in particular, the noise as you turn the corner to go over Tower Bridge is something that will stay with me for a long time. As for running down the Mall at the end - it was moments like this that got me into running!

In short: Fast course, even with the wind, great PB potential
In full: Well organised, although purely for the runner (which was fine). Good location.

In short: Probably best for mountain goats.
In full: I was told that the scenery was stunning but I was too out of breath to notice. Great event and really well organised. Superb cakes at the finish. Hugely challenging course, 3 (or was it 4?) steep climbs - one needing your climbing gear although tested your ability to 'edge your skis' on the way down! - left me struggling when we hit the half mile mud track after 8 miles. Boy, I'm aching now!

In short: Hardest thing I've done yet but feels like a huge achievement
In full: Thoroughly enjoyed this one (can say that now it's over!). Good course layout, very tough if you're not used to these distances, and friendly organisation.

In short: Late entrant but even the weather couldn't spoil the enjoyment
In full: OK, so I decided late in the day to come along. The only disappointing thing was that the race information had nothing about where it was being held (other than in Alton). No signs up in Alton and no-one at the Sport Centre (right next to the Running Club HQ) seemed to know anything about it. Fortunately came across the race car park by accident. After that, everything was great and the even was really well marshalled. Enjoyed every minute.
