In short: Tough 12 miler - totally exhausted runners need a mars bar at the end of the race. Goody bag was just polythene bag and water. Charge a pound more and give us something to restore energy please

In short: Marketing that "Live Music will be scientifically selected & played throughout the course" was a BIG CON
In full: I can remember 2 bands - the one at the start, and one at the barracks - in addition to this there were a handful of speakers playing music, but I can't say it was throughout the course enough to boost performance.

It has to be said that the mood of most was not great after the only means of access was closed. The weather was miserable. So I guess the organisers had their work cut out to deliver a great event. As already stated there were no announcements except someone walking around with a handheld tannoy (not ideal to communicate with 10,000 runners), and it would have been nice to have the date and the fact it was a half marathon on the medal. To compound my day the traffic out of London was dreadful, so it took me 2 hours just to get onto the M4.

The main disappointment for me is that the beat was silent for almost the whole course, and while I didn't expect the course to be lined with live music, it was billed as have a dozen + bands. Well only 2 appeared to have turned up!!

In short: Nice race - it would be even better if the course didn't double back on it self at the beginning so much - however I guess this is good for specatators who can see the people they know several times throughout the race
