In short: Good coastal marathon with great support. It will always be breezy though! In full: I really enjoyed this marathon. Couple of minor issues on the run like the split mats not being in the correct/advertised position but those are for analysis afterwards not during the race so it shouldn't have affected anyone's run. The wind will always be a factor on this route unless the gods really shine on it! I'd agree with other reviewers and strongly recommend that the expo is moved into city centre edinburgh. The long trek to find the Next generation gym took far too long. Date of review: June 2, 2008

In short: Challenging race, dead flat for 2/3 then uphill for last 4 miles In full: First time for the organisers in Dundee so there were some teething troubles which I'm sure will be ironed out for next time - eg no chip timing mat. The start at Broughty Ferry was lovely and flat. there were enough marshals throughout and enough water. The only real gripe was the route. After 8 miles or so, you left the river and started to climb to Camperdown Park. You climbed 100m in the last 4 miles. (By comparison, the climb at the hill at 11 miles in Alloa is only 25m). Even when you made it into the park it didn't flatten off till the last 600m or so. It seemed very supportive of beginners/slower runners with the commentator and finish team staying in place till the last runners finished. There were lots of unattached runners in the race. The people at the Glass Pavillion in Broughty Ferry were very welcoming to all the runners collecting their numbers at 7.30am on a Sunday morning. They didn't mind all the loo roll being used and were even open for coffees etc! great practical support from a local business. Date of review: July 5, 2007

In short: Great race - worthy of Scottish half marathon championship standard In full: great race today. Plenty of water stations, good marshalling and decent support considering that Dunfermline was a bit flat after yesterday's defeat in the cup final! Not an easy course as it does 'undulate'. In short: Fantastic event for all levels of runners In full: A great event with a fantastic spread of food afterwards and a great goody bag. The hills aren't too bad. This fills up very qiuickly - before Christmas for a March race so enter as soon as it opens or regret it come march! Date of review: March 4, 2007
