In short: Great race
In full: Well done to the Willow Foundation for putting on a great race - excellent organisation (my only gripe wad the km markers all being in the wrong place except the 9k one).

To the marhsalls (especially the 2 ladies at around 7.5k), a huge thank you...at least we runners were on the move and not standing in the deluge. You were all fab.

I'll be back in 2010!

In short: A great event, but why-oh-why...
In full: ...can't they start on time? If is says 11am on the tin, then start at 11am (ok, so a minor niggle, and not one limited to this event but surely not that tricky to achieve).

Baggage store would have been great too - they seemed to assume that everyone would be turning up in a car or with a freind to look after bags...not always the case.

On the plus side - an excellent course - 2 different & challenging laps. Great scenery and all off road. Will definitely do this one again...great event, great cause.

In short: Let me start by saying that I haven't entered this event, but...
In full: ...I have supported my partner twice.

The "organisation" (if you can call it that) is perhaps the poorest of any race I have ever entered or watched.

Timing is almost non-existent, with the "organisers" expecting runners/cyclists to call out their number as they cross transition/start/finish lines, and the mates who are logging numbers, times etc often seem to miss entrants (in fact at a previous race all 3 even failed to correctly record the start!).

At the last check, times were still not on the website, despite being promised on the day of the race and then the following day. How long does it take to transpose a couple of hundred runners' details from paper to a spreadsheet and onto the web?

What about chip timing? If a fantastic event like the Wedding Day 7k can do it (organised by a running club), why can't a "professional" events company do it?

All in all a pretty poor experience.

On the positive side, my kids did like the fact that they could get a cookie or danish from the refreshment tent, so at least they were happy with the day!

In short: Well organised race
In full: Companies like F3 Events could learn a lot from these guys! Ran like clockwork, great marshalling.

Some gruelling hills from mile 11 onwards but apart from that a great course.

Bring on 2010!

In short: Fantastic experience!
In full: From registration (sped through in less than 10 minutes on Friday morning) to baggage reclaim on Sunday afternoon the whole marathon experience was fantastic.

This was my 1st time at the distance, so the last 6 miles were tough - the rain & hail didn't help - but the crowds at this stage were fantastic.

Entry for the 2009 ballot is already done! bring it on.

In short: Great course & well organised race
In full: As usual for Humanrace revents this was well organised, with fantastic marshalling all around the course.

If I had 1 gripe it would be about the water stations - bottles would be so much better than cups.

In short: Back again for the 10th time - love this event
In full: One small gripe about this year's event - ran out of Large t-shirts very quickly. I finished in 40 minutes to be left with a choice of Medium or Medium, so the better half got this year's shirt!

Apart from that the organisation was smooth, and the event well marshalled.

See you in '08 for number 11!

In short: Nice 3-lap course, tough in places
In full: All in all, a well organised race. A bit hilly and the grass sections were tough on laps 2 & 3 after they'd been cut up 1st time round.

In short: Hot, hilly & hard
In full: I know this has been said before - and organisers can't take the blame for the weather, but running at 1pm is pretty silly - it was as hot (if not hotter than) last year. Bottled water definitely needed for next year - surely this race is high-profile enough to get a spnsor for that? Lucozade a nice addition though - and the lady with the hosepipe!

Hills are tough - didn't seem much easier than last year to me. All in all a tough course that challenges.

Well organised, but once again, long wait to get out - not good with tired, bored kids who'd watched their dad run for 2 hrs. Better traffic control needed.

In short: As usual - a fantastic race
In full: Will be back again next year (despite the M25 doing its best to make me miss the start this year - made it by the sking of my teeth).

Highly recommend this race - though you do need to get in early as it fills up quickly.
