In short: Hot and hilly
In full: have done this race 4 years on the trot, and you can always guarantee it will be hot!

4th year for me a 4th course change, liked this years course, but must admit I prefered last years with the opportunity of running through the town centre.
Hopefully no changes to the course for next year.

Car parking is allways bad, but finish line shambles of this year has not happened before. i'm sure it is a one off

In short: Great event , Great marshalls
In full: Very tough, but it was my first Marathon (Baptism of fire!)

The marshalls were just superb. Cannot praise them enough. Well organised, and despite the weather good fun

In short: The best one yet
In full: I,ve run this half marathon for the last three years, and I have to say it gets better and better.

The course changes this year made a previously dull course far more intersting, yes there were hills, but they are all part of the fun!

I don't know if the organisers read the comments on here, but it seems that every year the gripes from the previous one are sorted out.

The organisation of this race has gone from strength to strength, making it one of my favourites long may it continue

A massive round of applause to the marshalls (Probably the most cheerful I've seen at any race), and the race organisers for a great race

In short: Great PB potential apart from "THE HILL"
In full: Really enjoyable race, lovely run along the river although a little narrow that hioll between mile 8 and nine was horrible,it felt vertical 200m from the top

In short: a definate for next year!!
In full: Good start time (09:30) no hanging about.
Well organised although the start a bit cramped. The marshalls advising about Bollard locations were very helpful
Would definatley recomend this. I have been trying to do it for the last two years so was happy to get a place in time this year!

In short: Average
In full: This was the second time I have run the St Albans Half. The new course in my humble opinion was terrible. The road from St Albans to Harpenden was a narrower version of the Redbourn Road (that everyone always complains about). The introduction of Folly Lane was folly itself. A ridculously steep hill to give you two minutes of running through the newly redevloped town centre (Did that really cost £5 Million?!?!). To the previous secretary of the Review Sunday Football League please stick to football. Your commentary about people taking over two hours as being "Fun Runners who are vowing never again" was at best ill informed, and at worst an insult to the majority of runners ( Finishing alone in the 30 degree heat was a fantastic acheiment in itself).
Full credit to the marshalls and police who so wonderfully got us all through it you really were the difference between finishing and not!!

In short: great atmosphere and organisation, a great event
In full: My second time around this scenic route. Fantastic atmosphere, great marshalls, and some great touches all round

No PB for me this year, but still a respectable time. Whilst not a great PB course. The course is fast and a PB could be possible

The Juniors fun run was the highlight of the day for me. Helping my 3 year old round the mile course was great, and she was so pleased with her medal

Well done to all involved in organising and running a fantastic event

See you next year

In short: My second year round a well organised and scenic route
In full: A well organised race. Do not be put off by comments about parking. Most people knew there would be over a thousand people turning up for a race that started at 10:00, to those people moaning please get up earlier, it is not the organisers fault.

The route is fantastic, and with the second half of the course downhill, making for a good negative split

Atmosphere great and beginner friendly, nice goody bag (Gel,drink etc.), and a nice medal which my little girl loves.

Well done Mike and everyone else involved in organising and marshalling the event. Will be back next year.
