In short: Up with downs all of it hurts
In full: Very challenging course. If you can run this fast then others will feel faster in comparison. Even the down hill sections start to hurt at the end. Gorgeous scenery, it's very rural so expect a few cow patts, puddles and tractor mud.
I love a tough course and this is right up there with my favourites.
Organisation was spot on; I never went the wrong way, marshals were very friendly, drinks were where you needed them and I liked the Long sleaved shirt we were all given.
Teeny minor niggles..
A few extra toilets would have been beneficial to allow for that normal pre start rush to the porcelain and it was a fiddle in the showers to get the hot water working.

In short: Ouch. This is a great one. Destined to get an uphill reputation
In full: I loved this race. With it's ups, downs, twists and turns, stunning scenery, lovely villages with supportive locals cheering you through this was a memorable morning. Plenty of feed stations. No where near a personal fast time for me but it was a refreshing challenge, setting it's own standards. Finish area marque was brilliant prep for bad weather but fortunately we had a dry, bright & hot run. Excellent commentary, the odd bit of banter between the hosts was hilarious. Thanks guys. Showers, secure baggage storage, drink & food availability, parking, all excellent.
If I was picky then the entry and exit to the grounds on the single lane was slow and troublesome. Definitely be back to knock off a few seconds and see if I can finish and still be able to walk a day after. Today I can't step of a curb. OUCH! Love it.

In short: Overall good. Nit-pic: slow start due to tight path congestion
In full: |enjoyed the race. Course was great after the first 2 miles and the congetion eased. Took 1min 9secs to get over the start line from mid way in the start pack so if you are seriously competing get up front. It took a good 2-3 miles for me to find my pace without stepping on heals which prevented hitting a personal best target. The route was interesting enough through the parks and back allies, real nice. If it had been drier then you could have overtaken on the grass next to the paths, but it was a tad slippy this time.

In short: I enjoyed the event and I plan to go back to set a PB next year.
In full: This was my first time here and I was psuedo-excited about the exposed course being a challenge in the forecasted strong winds and horizontal rain, but it turn out pretty nice which made it more enjoyable than I expected. Great organisation, friendly marshalls, clean and large changing facilities, plenty of parking and the chocolate muffins were a temptation.

In short: Fun and friendly with a competitive streak
In full: This is the first running race I have ever completed in and it was really good fun. There were friendly runners taking it easy as well as the more serious winning types giving the field a good atmosphere. I started with a smile and finished with a mad grin.
