In short: Leave out the tarmac rubbish, its for woosies and really boring
In full: Less of a challenge this year, 23% longer but only 9.5% more hill makes it 11% softer at 42.2m/km.
The old course was full Cat A Fell Race standard at 47.5m/km - the only one I know of around here ! (The Box Hill Fell Race later in the month is only 44.5m/km so thats a Cat B Fell Race)

In short: Next year I want to do all of it at the pace I did the 1st 6k (then I crashed)
In full: A lovely event. Just needs a marshal near the yha hostel to cope with crashers, as its a long walk down to the road from there dripping blood.

In short: You are an evil sadistic man Dr. Rob, but I am definitely one of your disciples now ;) I now have a compulsion to enter the Midsummer Monro !
In full: This race is such a fantastic challenge. There is no other race I've entered that requires so much self-discipline on your pace. The reward however, is being able to get up those steps to the bandstand(?) on the way back and still have enough to pick up your pace to your max work rate for a fantastic finish. I'm loving it.

In short: A tough never-ending hill to start, but after that a good mix of terrain. I'll be back :)
In full: Great countryside to run in, and a good route across the hills.
Its nice to have the toughest hill early on, and even nicer when you have a downhill to finish with a sprint.
Challenging but rewarding.
