In short: Very pretty - not great for beginners
In full: The scenery was wonderful but the weather made an already tough race very difficult. Thank you to all of the marshalls who braved horrid conditions. The lack of a backmarker was a shame, particularly as a few of the turns on the course were unmanned by the time I reached them - I went the wrong way a couple of times!

In short: Mud mud glorious mud!
In full: This is not to be underestimated, mainly because the difficult parts are tackled near the end when you are starting to tire. I loved the mud and seeing the train lifted my spirits. The marshalling was amazing and there were more water stations that I have seen in some marathons. The goody bag was very generous with a nice medal and t-shirt along with lots of yummy treats to keep you busy in the car on the way home! I loved this race and would recommend it to anyone who likes a challenge.

In short: Fantastic!
In full: This is my third year of running this race - I love it! It's just the right mixture of hills and flat to make you feel you have achieved something. Fantastic organisation, frequent water stations (I think 4-5 in total) and very friendly. Where do I enter for next year?!

In short: Blimey it was warm!
In full: There was a bit of confusion about the start - we didn't hear anything at the back to indicate we were off. The route was pleasant but undulating without too many cars. The course was well sign posted and the there was plenty of water at all of the drinks stations, I always carry a water bottle which was filled up at each station but for anyone who doesn't an extra water station might have been nice given the heat. At the end you recieved a nice good quality medal and a very generous goody bag - All in all I can't really complain.

In short: A friendly race, great for all levels of runner.
In full: A well organised race on traffic free country lanes with a couple of hills to make this a fairly challenging 10K course. The organisation was fantastic and the marshalls were very friendly and helpful. Great for first time racers.

In short: Well worth getting up on a Sunday morning for!
In full: This year was my first time at this race, but I will be back! I didn't mind running on the roads and I thought everyone was really friendly. Weather was lovely apart from running into the wind for the last few miles. Thank you Acorns for a lovely race in aid of a great cause.

In short: Where was the water after drinks station at 2.5 miles?
In full: Reasonable course. Not well signposted with a lack of marshalls. Biggest problem given the weather was the lack of water for slower runners. Given a bottle of water at 2.5 miles. At the next water station, we were forced to pick up half empty bottles off the floor, but were promised water at the next water station. When we got there, there was no water, but luckily local kind residents were filling up jugs to top up our bottles. The final water station also had no water, and again, we relied on a local resident to provide us with water. For a run of this distance, in these conditions, from such a high profile organiser, the lack of water was TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. No advice or instruction was given at the start of the race, and the 5 mile runners and half marathon runners weren't seperated, which lead to much confusion at the start. Queue for chips was ridiculous, and it wasn't mad clear what to do to collect your chip. The goody bag was nice though!!

In short: Does exactly what it says on the tin!
In full: It was scenic and it was 6 miles! Nice atmosphere in the village hall pre & post race, lovely home-made cakes and a good cup of tea! The start was chaotic due to the slower runners having to start mixed in with the fun runners (mostly children)The conditions made it difficult as we were running into the wind and the rain for most of the race. I will be back next year if there weather perks up a bit!
