In short: Good test for your speed at 10 miles.
In full: Does what it says on the tin. 10 mile run. Field not big so you don't get held up and lots of effort from the marshalls.

In short: Improvements made from last few years with, it seems more on the cards.
In full: It's the GNR. What would it be with a flawless run from start to finish with no slow bits? Pens worked out better for me as a mid order runner. It also seems next year they will be asking for certified times for whih pen you get put in.

In short: Is there that much rain in the sky? Excellent race in terrible conditions.
In full: As always a fun race with excellent mix of skill levels. Nice and flat so you cn test your speed for the next year. Did race with my sister as her first 10 miler. I was well proud!

In short: Stockport again put on an excellent and challenging race!
In full: I thought it was cold last year! Knowing the route this year was a massive advantage in that I knew when all the hidden hills finished. Only gripe on organisation was the second lap of the stadium where the elites had decided o run on the in side so they had to cross all us slowess to get out of the park. Excellent marshalls with happy faces in such cold conditions.

In short: Where else can you go for a run with afew thousand santas!
In full: My regular gripe about this race is that it doesn't feel terribly safe. Running along with lots of upturned metal road signs feels like an accident waiting to happen. The medal thi year however was top drawer and the teeshirt was better too!

In short: Harder work route than last year but had more fun!
In full: Well organised, enjoyable run. There did seem to be more up hill than down dale but living in the hills, I don't mind too much! Well worth turning up for, and a good mix of slowies which makes it great for first timers! Look forward to next year! Can't imagine doing it as a full though, a lot more challenging than London!

In short: Great race with lovely scenery
In full: Excellent race with small field. Normally go running along here on training runs so just like a normal Sunday but with a hundred or so others.

In short: The weather made it a great day for not doing a marathon.
In full: I was really impressed with how pretty this route was, especially on the other side of tha castle where I hadn't been before. Obviously weather was hot but I do like hot days so I'm not going to complain about that.
As a slower runner, I was a bit dismayed that they ran out of Lucozade at the first Sports drink stop and there was none of the promissed sponges (which I was looking forward too). However, all the other drinks stations looked well stocked when I passed them.
How gutting is it to run past a beach with everuone enjoying themselves to have to run another 6 miles!
I would encourage all to have a go, even if it is the hottest day of the year!
The finish was really nice, a lot better than London in that your friends can actually see you cross the finish line andcome and chat to you straight away.

In short: Second year running this one, and will be back next year!
In full: Still a bit knackered from FLM but I couldn't miss this one as I enjoyed it so much last year. The bottleneck at the start is annoying as you can lose upwards of 60 seconds right at the start and still water in cups (but given out by super friendly people). Good organisation and great comments from my suporters waiting for me at the stadium about how well entertained they were kept.

In short: The best race ever. The only draw back is now I have done it I want to be able to do it even more next year!
In full: I would like to say all that was great about it, but it would take to long. A funny thing I keep thinking was about the amount of food that you could get on the route. I need not have worried that my belly would be empty! Amazing day, amazing crowds! Just a shame it had to end!
