In short: Good marathon with interesting course.
In full: Really enjoyed Edinburgh. Got a great start and loved the course, especially the trail section through Gosford Park. In fact, it was this section which was my saving grace, with the change in terrain re-invigorating my running, just in time for the final wind assisted 8 miles. Thought the finish run in at Mussleborough was amazing. Not my fastest marathon, but the first one that I've managed even splits.
The only part of the weekend that I didn't like was the trip to and from the expo. Please post out numbers and chips next year.

In short: Great flat 20.
In full: Really enjoyed this event. Interesting course on home territory, great marshalls and good support from the other runners. Conditions ok with the sun making an appearance, but a bit of a head wind from 13 miles.

In short: Great February half marathon.
In full: Intended to do this as a training run for London, but the flat course and 3 lap format got the competitive urges going and so I ended up with a PB.

In short: If you haven't done this one, then you're missing out!
In full: Did this marathon having not a run a marathon for 4 years. Fantastic event! Well organised with plenty of water, energy drinks and sponges. Plenty to do or watch for the rest of the family and even the weather brightened up after rain in the morning - the strong wind remained, making for challenging running conditions. Great route, though the final 4-5 miles is uphill, so save something for this sting in the tail.

In short: Very frustrating. Could be great, but was terrible.
In full: First time at this race. Waste of money and time - 40 mins to cross the start, even though I got there in plenty of time - only to be by passed by others who arrived later and pushed in over the barriers, or around the outside. The worst organised race I have ever taken part in and I've been running and competing for 25 years.

In short: Did this as a training run, cycling 8 miles there and back accompanied by my son who did the fun run. Great way to spend a Sunday Morning!
