In short: Great race
In full: Running through London streets is great...under bridges with bands and people cheering...getting to finish facing the palace. A generally great experience.

A huge thank you to the marshalls who braved the weather for a lot longer than the runners. Even the kids handing out goodie bags were in great spirits.

No complaints about the weather; I'm waterproof! lol.

In short: RP 10k
In full: Would be wise for the organising club to check weather forecasts and arrange with parks (or do themselves) to grit the tight corners. It was very icy and I saw one runner with a badly bloodied knee following a slip.
Otherwise - lovely location for a run but not the fastest course. Although it's pretty flat, there are several sharp turns.

In short: Nice course, as road courses go...
In full: ok, I'm not a big fan of running more than 1/2hr on road, but if you're gonna, it's a good race for it. There's enough variation with a few good climbs and nice country lanes. Organisation seemed pretty good: lot's of marshalls, enough water stations, start not too far from car-park. Highlight of the day... got a book signed by Ron Hill. Legend! :-)

In short: I'll not be back...
In full: After speaking with the organisor, i was expecting a very friendly and well organised event. Although some aspects (well, the aid station) was very well organised, on the whole, i'd say it was a mess. 14 lap course and runners could not be told what lap they were on without a search through papers - i know some were sent in early having not completed the correct number of laps. The event seemed to cater well for the front runners, but unless you're a <3:30 man, stay home. Runners coming through later were not even met with a cup of water and had to wrestle with a huge container to get their own.... after running 50km!

rant over.

In short: Two days after, i hurt all over, but i've it in my diary; 1th July '06! Managed 44.3 on the day, chuffed for first ultra, so i'll be back in '06 to nail the distance! Probably the best event i've done and i've been running for 10yrs.

In short: really enjoyed it...
In full: despite the lack of signs it was heaps of fun. If you were there to run 'fast' or get a placing then you'd have been p**sed about the lack of signs. But as i was just there to run a tough event i just looked at the "not knowing if i was going the right way" as part of the toughness.

Recommended if you really want to cause yourself some pain and suffering :-)

In short: Trent Park's a fantastic place to run and this is nice way to stretch your legs out on it's many sharp hills.
