In short: Get there early- Scenic and enjoyable.
In full: We arrived early so had no problems getting into the park but noticed a lot of late commers which delayed the race by only 10mins. Race was a lovely course with some mildly challenging hills but lots of downhill too so was a good combination. An enjoyable day. Queing to get out was inevitable and it took us about 20mins to get out but not too bad, maybe we should have stayed to drive around the park instead. We really enjoyed this race and I made it round in 56mins despite lack of training for 2 weeks!

In short: Hot weather can't be helped, crowded in some places but good day out at the quay.
In full: The start was very crowded but a good atmosphere but it must have been 30 degrees celcius that day and it sure felt hotter. The delayed start meant we were stood scorching in the sun for too long. The quay is a great setting and you can have a nice ice cream afterwards!

In short: Beautiful scenary, challenging course, great organisation.
In full: After reading the course description as 'some gentle slopes' I did not expect the mighty hills we climbed and decended today, (so watch the course descriptions in other CancerResearch 10K's.) I enjoyed the race as it was multiterrain and support and organisation was excellent. I will do it again next year for sure.

In short: Great atmosphere, fabulous freebies but long toilet queues
In full: A flat easy course but suffered from too many people making it very squashed and slow further back. Goody bag was the best I've had yet and was full of food, samples and lucozade! I will do it again next year, the medal is top quality.

In short: A quick easy charity race suitable for everyone
In full: If you are verging on whether or not you will start running going to a race for life meet is a great idea. If you are a serious runner you need to start at the front and although no results are published there is still healthy competition and atmosphere. Beginners can take their time and see how they do without the worry of being last in a more serious race. Raise some sponsor money and help a good cause. I started at the front for this one and found it a good 5k course with a hill all of the 4th km but no killer. Start further back and expect a wait to start and a crowded one. Fantastic beginner charmer.

In short: A challenging race with fantastic atmosphere and BBQ!
In full: The single file bridge at the start is a problem but we overcame this by running through the river as many did. Well worth the wet feet (which I didn't get as i blagged a piggy back!). The race was hard work and I felt like we went up more than we went down but that's always the way. Really had a great morning and some good BBQ at the end, we will do it again next year. Came in at 56 mins.

In short: A crowded start but easy flat course for a PB
In full: Worth doing for the fact your sponsorship money goes to a fantasticly good cause. Willen Lake is a 'nice' place but not what I call scenic. I am doing some more of these races in places such as Cambridge and Exeter and I hope these are much nicer places to enjoy my run. There are always lots of walkers on these races but they manage them well by putting them at the back. Start was very packed and once over the start had to stop and walk which was annoying. I had to cut and weeve through many to get decent space nearer the front. I don't think I would do this particular one again but am looking forward to my next race for life race. Fund raising is going well. Completed in 25mins 24secs this time round, a time to beat next time!

In short: My first race, really enjoyed it and the fantastic atmosphere.
In full: A race well worth doing. The scenary is fabulous and everyone friendly. There are people clapping and cheering you all the way. This was the first race I have ever entered and it has heightened my confidence and got me crying out to do more! I will most certainly be doing this one again next year.
