In short: Well organised but shockingly expensive
In full: The bridge-affar was well handled, so well done to the organisers who had to make a difficult decision with very little time. The situation was explained clearly and as soon as they could.

However, that does not have anything to do with charging up-to £28 for a 10k. That was virtually daylight robbery, whether for charity or not. The t-shirt and medal in the goody bag didn't cost much and the 80p worth of chocolate was poor.

In short: Good race, it'll get better with age!
In full: Generally a good race, and it has the potential to be great! marshals were mostly helpful and supportive, though hired security guys knew nothing.
Water stations were all very good, well laid out and spread out.
As a visitor to the city I would have liked signs saying where to park (having entered late there were no "VIP" parking slots left; it took me 1/2 hour to find my way around!
I was also caught out slightly by dozens of unmentioned underpass "hills" - nothing much, but combined they really affected my stride!
T-shirt "for sale" (£15) is excellent, the free finisher's t-shirt was a surprise, and pretty good for a cotton one. Way too large though, does one size really fit all?!
The preparation for the start and finish in the football stadium was good, I'm sure football fans felt it meant more! Great support in the last 400 yards!

In short: Great local race
In full: I didn't see any organisational faults, though I heard of some; great crowds, few marshalls (though the ones I saw were great!). I hate the course, but accept it's fair enough, and having taken 2 mins off my PB I can't really complain!

In short: Good time trial sort of race
In full: well organised with very friendly, supportive and efficient marshalls. Goody bag wasn't quite goody (a cereal bar, banana, bird food, massage gel and some leaflets) but the t-shirt is excellent.

In short: Magnificent
In full: Well done Mr Bedford and Sir Richard, another great race and worldwide sporting spectacle. I won't wax lyrical too much because everyone pretty well knows how special the VLM is already!
Must note how good the t-shirt is this year though - I think I'll wear it to the Olympicas later this year!
