In short: Well organised as ever, great crowds etc - disappointing goody bag, shocking t-shirt for such a premier race In full: Well organised as ever and the Fast Good for Age start is a welcome innovation. Crowds were the best ever - ear-splitting cheering in places. The only poor aspect was the poor goody bag at the end - and a truly shockingly poor t-shirt after good technical versions in '07 & '08. Adidas should be able to provide something MUCH better. Date of review: May 1, 2010

In short: Well organised pre London race - good for getting pacing right In full: This is an excellently organised race with good PB potential and requires disciplined pacing. Course isn't the most beautiful, but the recent amendments to the last mile of the lap are a big improvement. As usual Hillingdon AC do a great job. Only drawback this year was that I hadn't the required miles under my belt which let me down. Anyone doing London who lives within 50 miles MUST do this race. Date of review: March 28, 2010

In short: Challenging course with great scenery. In full: Usual challenging course with great scenery attached. Mile markers seemed very accurate and pre & post race organisation was pretty good, although more changing space would have been good. A good character test pre-London. Date of review: March 7, 2010

In short: Outstanding and tough offroad race. Not for the faint-hearted or the under-trained. Fell shoes are a must. Very well organised and marshalled In full: Unbelievably tough off roader, with plenty of hills, mud and water to challenge you. Very well organised and marshalled, and after race massage availability was very welcome. Changing facilities could have been better but excellent post and during race food etc. Will be back for this one without doubt. Fell shoes are essential - there is no advantage to running in anything else, you just slip and slide and get overtaken by people with grip. I wore Inov8 Mudroc 290s, and they were superb... In short: Very tough 15 mile offroad race, but very well organised In full: This was my first time here. Middle section is very hard - muddy and wet, and those without fell shoes struggled, slipped and fell over!! Good organisation and excellent t-shirt - but not enough loos for this size of entry. In short: great course, well organised and great value for money In full: Don't know what course other reviewers did but there wasn't much mud where I ran. They ought to do Herbert's Hole in Chesham!! very well organised and friendly. Date of review: November 19, 2009

In short: well organised, local race with a tough hill at the end. Nice involvement throughout from Graham Taylot who started the race. In full: well organised, local race with a tough hill at the end. Nice involvement throughout from Graham Taylot who started the race, greeted every finisher with a medal, presented the prizes and opened the new community centre afterwards. In short: Over-hyped, too expensive, and too slow at the start to make this anything other than a fun run. Not for serious runners .r In full: Sorry to burst the GNR bubble, but I was quite disappointed by this, especially the price - on a £ per mile basis, this is 3x the cost of London Marathon, and nowhere near as slick. The goody bag is atrocious - no technical t-shirt, few giveaways, and not enough food. I'm pleased I've done it, but I won't be back. Date of review: September 21, 2009

In short: Good as ever but same mile marker issues at mile 5 & 6 as last year...do they read the feedback, and do they use their GPSs...? Date of review: December 28, 2008

In short: beautiful scenery, run at a good time of day, v challenging hill In full: excellent race, well organised in beautiful scenery. Time of race at 7pm makes it possible to do things with the family before running. Great food/drinks etc afterwards - only downside was the water in the showers was so hot you couldn't stand underneath it! Date of review: May 6, 2008
