In short: Must be good as my wife who said she would only run one marathon ever is going to enter again next year. In full: The organisation of the start puts the Great North Run to shame. We joined the back of the queue and were over the start line in 15 minutes. It took us that long to take ONE step in the GNR. People said the support was amazing but it was better than that. In short: Took 15 minutes to take one step. Then after 2 minutes runing was having to avoid people walking!!! The wave start at the Great South Run was so much better. The 1 1/2 queue for the Metro after the race didn't help either. Date of review: January 4, 2006

In short: The race changed my view of Portsmouth totally. Did both North and South runs this year. The Great South Run wiped the floor with the Great North Run as an experience. Date of review: January 4, 2006
