In short: Well organised flat-ish race
In full: This race was well organised with plently of parking and friendly marshalls. Bit of a different start as we walked for 5 mins to get there and a little confusion at the start as people were lining up on the wrong side of the start line. Route was pretty flat although there were a few rises around the 8-9 mile mark but nothing too bad with the wind blowing us back. Thought the mug and chocolate bar at the end was a great idea.
Only one small comment that the queue for the ladies toilets were quite long at all 3 locations, maybe a few more porta loos would help this.
Overall a good race which I would consider running again.

In short: good atmosphere, but crowded in places
In full: first time doing this marathon and found that the atmoshere was brilliant. Lots of support from the crowds and marshalls which was really appreciated- especially in the second half. Quite slow in some places in Wollerton park and hard to get by people. Second half was quite uneven and a lot of duplicate parts. Overall a really good marathon which i would recommend- and I got a pb.

In short: good organisation, but some tough hills
In full: my first try at the humber half, and did find the hill at mile 9 tough and the bridge at the end seems to go on forever. Was a little disappointed with the goody bag at the end-could have done with something more than apple and pear-and the queue was really long had to stop as soon as i crossed the line. But overall good organisation and lots of support which really helped.

In short: nice flat race which was well organised with good support
In full: nice flat race-apart from the humpback bridge on the A59. Well organised and good support from the marshalls,it was really appreciated on such a cold day.
But overall really enjoyed and would do again.

In short: Good Race, but overhyped
In full: Overall this was an enjoyable race and I was suprised that not many people got in my way (my first time running this). I had a few comments on the parking at south shields as there were no indications of where we were supposed to go and how far it was, and it seemed everyone was just following each other. I was also suprised that we had to pay for the parking, not much £3 but this wasn't mentioned in the race guides.
I also wanted to mention the start as I arrived to find that the gates for the orange section had been closed and we were told to go right to the end. I'm wondering how this could happen as I thought the reason that a certain number of colours were given out was so that everyone could fit in the pens.
Overall this race was good, but very boring apart from going over Tyne bridge and by the sea at the end. Maybe I was expecting more as it is built up.

In short: Brilliant first time marathon with lots of support
In full: This was my first marathon, and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed the course, bar the winds, and the support was brilliant from both the spectators and the volunteers. A big thank you to everyone along the route. Water/energy station were also well stocked. I definely want to do this marathon again.
