In short: What goes up, must come down.....
In full: Straight into a steepish hill made me start to wish I'd stayed in but after the first mile the course flattened out. The whole atmosphere was great, really friendly people and fab marshalls.
The goody bag was one of the best ever, with a very reasonable entry fee this is a lovely local race.
Even the rain at the end didn't dampen our adrenaline!

In short: Really enjoyable race! Lovely weather too!!
In full: Positives: The start of the race worked really well with pens avoiding bottle-necks early on.
We know this course fairly well and were prepared for the nasty sharp turns and inclines! At least you get to see the nice bits of Derby!
The weather this year was perfect which added to the wonderful atmosphere - lots of crowds at the start and around the pride park area. The drumming band were marvellous at a point where they were needed. Would like to see more entertainment if possible in the future?
Brilliant organisation....extra car parking this year helped. Lots of friendly marshalls! A big thank you!
Negatives: Massive bottle-neck at the finishing line...the marshalls were trying their best to move people into the funnel so not really sure what the problem was. STUPID people standing IN THE MIDDLE of the course when others were still finishing!!
No bananas!!!!!

Overall though we really enjoyed it!!!

In short: Terrible weather but smiling marshalls made up for it!!
In full: First time I had done this half marathon and although the astonishingly awful weather made it tough the atmosphere, organisation and marshalls made it worthwhile. I will definately be pencilling Newark into next years race calendar! The proximity of the local pub on the market place was great for supporters and provided the best loos I've ever seen at a race! Thanks to he hard work of the organisers, police and marshalls - I hope you've all had a nice cup of tea to warm up!
