In short: Took the advice to use park and ride resulting in my family not seeing me at the finish as it took 2 hours to get there! In full: The organisation at the start was good with colour coded numbers and pens working well. Woefully inadequate number of toilets on Regent Road but this happens at most races. Good water and lucozade stations.Enjoyed the run, but the organisation with park and ride and the buses at the finish was a shambles and would put me off doing this again in this location. After walking about 2 miles to get to the bus queue we queued for 25 minutes only to eventually be told we were in the wrong queue! No signs up and marshalls who sent you to the wrong place. Have read other comments and agree that a circular route with more of the city in it would be better. Also didn't understand the hub at Holyrood park - why not just start and finish there? In short: First race after injury and surgery so was always going to be special! In full: Lucky it didn't rain but that headwind in the last 3 miles was a killer! Nice medal and nice to get a long sleeved shirt for a change. Date of review: March 28, 2010

In short: Got a PB so am really pleased with how it went In full: Overall enjoyed the race, organisation was generally good and route had enough undulations to make it interesting! Getting medal and T-shirt was good but something to eat in the bag would have been welcome. Echo the point about energy drink, didn't carry any as info. said it would be there and then it wasn't. Will know better next time! Date of review: May 13, 2007

In short: Different scenery, good running on closed roads, enjoyed it In full: Pity about the delay at the start- some louder announcements would have good to plan that all important last trip to the loo! Didn't spoil the race at all though. Water in cups is a pain and can't understand why they didn't use bottles. Great medal and nice T-shirt. Only did the half myself this time but can't understand some of the marathoners complaining about it being 2 laps surely they knew that when they entered? Date of review: June 5, 2006
