In short: Not the Edinburgh Marathon
In full: All went well, despite the heat.

Agree it's a tour of east Lothian and a bit like calling the old Polytechnic marathon, the London Marathon. The aim of the organisers should be to get it to go through central Edinburgh, then out into the suburbs and return. Not that I'm interested in cheering crowds, but it might help the race profile, but maybe not the speed of the course. You will know when the race has made it as spectators won't be allowed near the start line - not that it was a problem

Else, water, baggage, transport, toilets all OK.

In short: Fantastic race
In full: A break in the weather made for a wonderful run. Races don't come any better than this - well apart from the pot holed run in, but don't let that put you off for next year.

In short: Only non-runners would take part in this.
In full: At least it's an accurate 10k, but that's about it. OK for fat people, people who haven't trained, joggers with headphones and walkers (25,000). Spend your money on something good instead.I got a freebie in case you're wondering.

In short: A tough challenge
In full: Excellent, multi-terrain event - mud, grass, pebbles, trail, puddles and plenty of hills. Made a change from the road.

In short: Superb run. A hidden classic of the racing calendar.
In full: Nothing to be scared of. Downhills are welcome at the end of the race and the gentle climb for the first few miles is hardly noticeable. FA cup final and beer tent at finish - great.

In short: Almost traffic free, lovely run
In full: Could do with sharpening up their marshalling and finish funnel, but otherwise a splendid run organised by very nice people. Nice to see Roonie O'Sullivan taking part (sub-40 I think)
